Disclaimer: I don't own elves or mallorn trees.
Author Note: Wow, I am so hocked on reading and writing LOTR poetry now. Thanks to all that have reviewed my others, you people rock! This one is about what is probably the most intriguing thing in Lord of the Rings to me. I love the idea of the elves going home to the Undying Lands. It's just….wow. So here's me trying to describe that, I'll probably try and write on this again. Review please.
Elven Song
Living with the grace of a thousand years
Feeling the sorrow of a thousand tears.
Watching the golden Mallorn leaves fall
Hearing glad voices in a golden hall.
Singing…
We are waiting for a gentle breeze,
To bear us slowly across the seas.
Yearning always for the painless lands
Longing to walk on the unspoiled sands.
Watching the grace slowly diminish
Seeing the tears; When will it finish?
Watching majestic Mallorn trees fade
Hearing clear voices now only say
We are waiting for a gentle breeze,
To bear us slowly across the seas.
Yearning always for the painless lands
Longing to walk on the unspoiled sands.
Looking back at a land without grace
Feeling the sorrow of leaving that place.
No more shall beautiful Mallorn trees grow
And clear voices they will now never know.
For we have found our gentle breeze,
To bear us slowly across the seas.
Coming soon to the painless lands
Forever to walk on the unspoiled sands.
