Chapter 1
The Fight
"Don't do this Aragorn!" yelled Legolas, "There is another way!" "She's dead, dead!" Aragorn yelled back, tightening his grip on the knife next to his throat. "Please, Aragorn, please..." Legolas said, taking a step toward him. "Put it down." Aragorn slowly lowered the knife and slumped to the ground, "I loved her!" he cried over and over. Legolas walked over to him, "You did the right thing." "Come on," he said pulling Aragorn to his feet. Siena and Leenera, their horses, walked over ready to get moving. They could feel the orcs approaching on the horizon and were nervous. Aragorn climbed up awkwardly, still depressed. "Gandalf sent for us, he's waiting in Bag End with Frodo...are you ready?" Legolas said, pushing his horse forward to a canter. Aragorn suddenly perked up, feeling gloomy but excited to be on the road again. Legolas began talking in elvish to his horse, Leenra, "Deen a hera nem rignoreilo." (A.N. Legolas said "ride on till dawn." in plain english) Aragorn was daydreaming. Legolas glanced over and confirmed the fact that Aragorn was remembering that day... ~"She's dead, Aragorn." Gandalf said quietly. "No, no, no, Arwen was an elf, she can't die, no!" Aragorn yelled, falling to his knees, his head in his hands. "How?" a muffled question asked. "The orcs attacked Rivendell - she wanted to fight - they couldn't stop her Aragorn..." Gandalf said softly "She died for the freedom of her freedom." ~"Aragorn?" Legolas asked nervously, "Are you all right?" Aragorn looked up with tears in his eyes, "I'm fine." Legolas looked thoughtful, "I feel the pain your feeling, Aragorn. She was my sister." Aragorn's head shot up, "I was in love Legolas - you don't know love!" he, with a look of resent, turned and galloped down the hill and out of sight. "Don't know love?" Legolas thought.
