Tarnished Reflections
Prologue
"So, this can cure me?"
Ranma was looking at an old man standing in front of a door. He had heard of a rumor that there's a place where one can remove anything from themselves, and naturally thought of his curse.
"No!" The old man said for the nth time. "This doesn't 'cure' anything! It splits whoever uses it into two people with the same memories, but with different parts of themselves!"
"So, I can split the curse off of me!" Ranma cheered, completely missing the point.
"NONONONONONO!!!!" The old man howled in blocky Japanese, whacking Ranma in the head with an old stick a couple of times. "LISTEN!!! It splits you into two of the same person. You have different parts of yourself in each, and each is still you! Understand?" A Chinese accent became easily identified from his annoyed shout.
Incredibly, it seems the whacks on the head helped the young pig-tailed martial artist figure things out. "So, what you're saying is that if I use the 'Room of Reflection', there will be two of me?"
Nodding slowly, the old man regained his calm said, "Yes. They will have different traits, but they will be you. You also can't use the Room again to either merge or spilt again for a year, and if the two have very different experiences, it may cause mental trauma because you'll have to remember two sets of memory."
For a while, Ranma just stood looking at the closed door in front of him, thinking. Finally, he made the decision. "Let me in. I'll use it."
Sighing, whether in pity or relief was unknown, the old man hobbled away from the door and pressed what seemed to be a rock, but upon closer examination was actually a touch pad colored brown. Ranma sweat dropped at the high tech equipments that seemed to hiss and move as the door slid open. The old man noticed his look and asked, "What? You expect magical artifacts to be kept with paper and duct tape?"
Chuckling lamely, he went inside to find a domed room with a large, yet shallow, pool in the middle. "Just step in the middle of the pool and wait." The old man instructed.
Ranma took a breath, and said softly, "For Akane." before entering, his curse triggering when he entered the water. The old man had already gone back to the touch pad, and did not see this transformation.
She looked down into her reflection in the water, and touched it with a finger.
"Whoever become you, remember. It's for Akane."
As the door slid completely shut, she felt a cold tingling cross her spine and she suddenly felt her mind being ripped apart, tossed into a salad blender, and then stirred with an egg beater a few times just to be sure. Losing consciousness was a blessing, and the last thing Ranma saw was another figure that looked just like him, floating on top of the water.

Here's a prologue of an idea I have sitting at the front of my mind. The next chapter takes place 10 years later, when we see what has happened in those years after the curse and Ranma was split into two person!
Note: I still have to edit this for spelling mistakes, but I'll do that when I finish chapter 1.
