Title: Judgment Day
Category: Parody/Angst
Summary: Story after a dream I had. What happens on judgment day? Read and review. Flames welcomed.

She was dead. She was dead and in front of God, in order to be judged. Well, the scenery wasn't exactly as she had expected it to be, but still.
She could see she was somewhere in the clouds and there was this white-pink- orange color around her. Maybe somewhere down it was sunset. In front of her, on a throne, stood an old man in very old clothes, looking bored and two winged people on his left and on his right, looking very stern, but not seeming to be really there.
"Here's the deal" the man said and she knew it was God. "You tell me two of your good deeds and two of your bad deeds and I let you in heaven. Got it?"
"Yes, sir" she answered. "So, I lied and I stole"
"Tsk, tsk" God commented, without even sounding concerned. "And good?"
"I... I helped the needing"
"You too? What surprise" God said, obviously bored. "And?"
"And... And I... I..."
She felt her heart sink. What else had she done that was a good deed? Well, she had helped... No... That was not it.... She started shaking. Did this mean she went to hell? No! She didn't want to go to hell! She was a good person!
"I... I went to the church..."
"That's not a good deed" God said. "That's an obligation."
"I..."
"Well?"
"I..."
"Let me hear you. What else have you done?"
She started shaking badly. She couldn't remember! She was going to hell! She was going to hell!!!
/*-/*-/*-/*-
'Beep. Beep. Beep.'
"Wha-?" she sleepily asked and turned off the beeping clock. "Oh. It was a dream" she said, understanding. But it felt real!
She got out of bed. Was she given a new chance? Maybe next time she could say she had done something else, not only helped the needing! Yes. But it felt stupid, didn't it? How could God be an old man in such awful looking clothes? But maybe he never got a chance to change. People were dying every minute, every second. No wonder he had felt bored. No wonder he didn't care.
She made herself a cup of coffee. It was all in her head. The judgment day, the angels, God... God couldn't be like that. God would give a damn.
/*-/*-/*-/*-
And now, I ask you: is this whole 'count the good deeds, count the bad deeds' not a weird idea of ours? What would happen if a man realizes he had lived his life in sin and changes in a second and in the next second gets run over by a car and dies? Would God send him to hell? Am I the only one who sees the stupidity here?
And to end this little story, I decided to quote somebody, although I'll change the quote a bit, since it had a very specific meaning then:
"When I counted all my sins, I freaked out, thinking that God was fair" –and from here on it's the original quote: "But then I realized that God isn't first of all fair. He is first of all good"
