Orange Candy Hearts
"How do you think they make these things? Like the writing is so tiny!" Hermione asked Harry as she stared at an orange candy heart.
"I don't know sweetie. Probably some big machine since they're muggle candy," Harry replied grinning.
"Oh, right. Well, did you know that my favorite are the orange ones?" She looked up into his eyes innocently.
"No I didn't," Harry replied, holding back his laughter.
"Well now you do! I love 'em! My dad used to get me a bag full of orange ones every Valentines Day. I always looked forward to it," Hermione sighed.
"It's good that you have that memory of him. I don't really remember anything that my dad might have done that was special for me, but I'm sure he did something special for my mum," Harry told her, giving her hand a light squeeze.
"I love you, Harry," Hermione sighed contently as she snuggled up against him.
"I love you too, Mione," Harry whispered into her hair as they both gazed intently into the common room fire. _._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._
"Ron, I figured it out!" Harry panted as he reached his best friend.
"Really? It's about time mate," Ron patted Harry on the back.
"Yeah, well, you're going to have to..." Harry told Ron his plan and both headed up to bed. _._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._
"C'mon, Hermione," Ron tugged on Hermione's arm.
"We have to wait for Harry," Hermione told him, pulling her arm from his grip.
"He told me to tell you to meet him in the Great Hall," Ron told her exasperatedly.
"Well, okay," Hermione followed him reluctantly.
When they reached the Great Hall, the sat in their usual seats and started eating. Just as Hermione finished her piece of toast, the mail started arriving. Hermione soon spotted her owl, Midnight, flying towards her carrying a bag in its talons.
"What do you got there, girl?" Hermione asked the bird, freeing it of the bag. Hermione quickly untied the pink ribbon holding it shut and gasped when the bag opened. "Oh," she whispered, picking up one of the many orange candy hearts. She smiled before reading the message printed on it. 'Marry Me' she sighed to her self and popped it into her mouth, smiling.
"Good?" Ron asked from across the table.
"Actually they are," Hermione told him, reading the message on the second one. 'Marry Me', this time Hermione set it on her plate and pulled out another one. 'Marry Me". Each one said it.
"Oh my god," Hermione gasped, looking up to see Ron smiling at her. He pointed over her shoulder, his smile growing wider as Hermione began to turn around. Harry was on one knee behind her, grinning nervously.
"Hermione," Harry smiled, grasping her hand, the other one currently covering her mouth, "I love you, and I was just wondering if, well, if you'd marry me?" He finished, opening a small velvet box holding his mother's engagement ring.
"Oh Harry!" Hermione whispered, tears forming in her eyes, "Yes, yes I'll marry you!" She smiled as a tear rolled down her cheek. She leaned in and kissed Harry gently on the lips as the whole hall cheered.
"I love you," Hermione whispered against his lips.
"Love you more," Harry smiled, kissing her back.
