Risks
Don't tell me we can make it,
I just can't take the risk.
At first I had my doubts,
Always erased by your kiss.
I must have missed you secret self,
The one you always had to hide.
I've seen the one, caring and gentle,
But you're branded with hate- deep inside.
You made me fall in love with you,
And now it hurts to have to say,
I don't' want this; I need to start off new.
I won't make you change- and mold you like clay.
I have taken risks times before,
They've always hurt me beyond repair.
I just can't take it any longer,
So let me- just do what's fair.
Don't tell me we can make it,
I just can't take the risk.
At first I had my doubts,
Always erased by your kiss.
I must have missed you secret self,
The one you always had to hide.
I've seen the one, caring and gentle,
But you're branded with hate- deep inside.
You made me fall in love with you,
And now it hurts to have to say,
I don't' want this; I need to start off new.
I won't make you change- and mold you like clay.
I have taken risks times before,
They've always hurt me beyond repair.
I just can't take it any longer,
So let me- just do what's fair.
