Voicemail
Sara walked into the locker room to retrieve her things. The shift was finally over, and she was glad because not only was she going to respond to a voicemail she received not too long ago, but she was ready to eat and take advantage of her vacation time. She had, what they called now, "double maxed" on overtime, earning her a four day vacation. She argued against it vehemently at first, but then, she started to like the idea. She could go down to her grandmother's ranch in southern Nevada.
Sara mulled over the possibilities as she grabbed her purse and her hygiene bag. She rolled her eyes as her phone buzzed on her hip, indicating another voicemail.
Technology was beginning to drive her crazy.
She picked it up and listened to it. She raised her eyebrow at it and then moved out to her car.
When Sara got home, she threw her things down on the counter and picked up her cell phone again. She scrolled to the most recent voicemail. Sara smiled.
After she got more comfortable, she was sitting on the couch watching television.
The doorbell rang and she hopped up and answered it, already knowing who it was.
She smiled and said, "Interesting voicemail," she started. "My place, bring the red one."
Warrick smiled and came in through the door of his house and he gave her a lusty once over.
"Technology can be great," he said.
She giggled and she kissed him passionately.
"Wait until I start leaving you voicemails," Sara whispered.
