Wow... it's been a while since I put up anything. Been really busy, tho'.
Anyhow, this is a Sojiro poem, and though I'm still not really satisfied
with it, I'm gonna post it. So... here goes.
Meant to cleanse and heal wounds,
These tears that fall from silent skies,
But none are left alive to see
The teardrops springing from your eyes.
Your hope is shattered with your dreams,
The shell that's left is hardly sane.
Shards of memory shred your mind
The entire world erupts in pain.
Up fly the shields, as strong as steel,
Fending away the awful truth,
Hurling away all emotions,
Protecting the remorseful youth.
You killed and killed without a thought,
A cruel assassin, cold as ice.
You hid your guilt behind a smile;
Your spirit broken was the price.
But then he came and broke the shields,
Released your heart and freed your mind.
He alone saw through your acting,
You can't tell if he's cruel or kind.
Who could guess your unfailing smile
Was just a front and nothing more?
That 'neath your childish innocence
Your soul was aching, at its core?
Well, that's it. How'd you like it? I actually turned it in for a school
project about when someone has "worn a mask". Then the teacher told us the
day it was due that it should sound like us and our lives. She's probably
mortally afraid of me now... And no, I don't own RK or my Freshman English
class.
