"Are you ok Melissa?" someone was saying. My head was all cloudy and my vision was all blurry. I moved my arms in front of me to see if the person was there. Then I was able to see a bit, I was sitting on a bed in some sort of room but soon I recognized it to be my own room.

"Melissa? Can you hear me?" someone was talking to me again. I closed my eyes and opened them again and then I could see fully again. "Yea, I feel fine but what happened?" "Oh, umm you were in a fight and well got hit pretty hard against the ground and I guess you knocked out," the person responded.

Then I tried to get up off my bed but I didn't have the strength and I fell back against my pillows. "Is that really all that happened? I feel like I was beat till I was dead but I'm alive so that cant be true but I'm a bit sore all over," I said. "Well you should feel better in a couple of hours time, then you can meet the others," the stranger explained.

Then I looked around for the stranger but he was gone. For a second I thought I had imagined him like it was a dream or something but then I noticed something at the end of my bed, a letter. The letter said this:

Dear Melissa,

I hope you will get well soon. I will visit you later tonight. By then you should be well enough to walk. Good thing that your parents are gone for this weekend. Even if it is Sunday and they come back tomorrow. Hope you have a good day and please be careful.

Best wishes,

Your Protector

This has to be some kind of joke, I thought to myself. Then I read the end of the letter.

P.S. Don't worry about anyone hurting you, I'll protect you.

Ok that is just odd, I thought to myself. So I decided to go back to bed and rest up a bit.

~ Hours Later ~

I yawned. "Good your finally up you sleepy head" the stranger was back. "Yea I guess I fell asleep here. So who are you any ways?" I asked. "Oh yea that might be a good thing to do. Well my name is Christpher but you can just call me Chris," the boy said.

Chapter 1

~ At School ~

"So you have been transferred to _______ High?" I asked. "Yea, I was tired of being Home-schooled, I thought it was time for a change" Chris responded. "You didn't transfer just because of me did you?" I asked. "No, why do you think that?" he responded.

"Well its first hour, I wonder what Chris has?" I asked myself. I sat down in English, then the teacher got in front of the whole class. "Class we have a new student joining us, please welcome Chris!" then shock came to my face and all I could was stare.

"Chris you can sit next to Melissa in the back row there, now class today we are going to learn about..." the teacher said. "How did you get this class?" I asked him. "I really don't know, here look at my schedule," Chris responded. Then I took a look at his list and then I was amazed. "Chris, do you realize that we have every single class together?" I asked him. "Do we, what luck!" he responded. I thought to myself 'a bit to lucky.'

"Now class your assignment for today is to write a report that will be 5 pages long about how important microscopes are and the different kinds to be turned in on Monday," the teacher said at the end of class. "Do you get this much homework everyday?" Chris asked. "Well usually no but the class has been a bit rowdy lately so she (points toward teacher) has been giving us more homework, ok next lunch," I said. "That double period was long, I mean three hours is a bit to long for only one hour, well lets get to lunch!" Chris responded.
