The Truth About The Lie
By ML Fan
This is a rewrite of the last scene in "Hello, Goodbye." (M/L)
Disclaimer: I own nothing having to with DA including Max and Logan, I only
wish I did.
Author's note: I wrote this long ago and as you might notice I was less
than enthusiastic about Season 2 of Dark Angel and how it turned out. This
ficlet is my way of trying to make things right. I didn't like the fact
that Logan let Max leave without a fight at the end of "Hello, Goodbye", I
don't think anyone would let the person that they love leave without a
fight, Logan included. If anyone wants to archive this story, please ask
first. Please read and review.
"It's over. We're finished, get used to it."
"Max, please don't go. I know you and I know that you're not with Alec, you've used him as a scapegoat because, you're scared."
"Aren't you scared that we won't find a cure?" said Max in a whisper
(Logan Sighs) "No, I'm not scared that we won't find a cure, because, the virus is just a small obstacle for us that we will beat and it doesn't change my feelings for you."
(Max sighs and moves a wisp of hair out of her face.)
"I can't be with you because of the virus, I just can't take anymore close calls with the virus. What if we touch again, Logan and you die because of me?"
"That's a risk I'm more than willing to take. Just because we can't touch doesn't mean we can't work together or have dinner every now and then."
"What about Asha? She clearly wants to more than friends with you, I've seen how she looks at you."
"I know that she wants to be more than friends, but you're the only woman in my life and heart. The virus doesn't change that nothing will change that. I think that our love and relationship are worth fighting for, I'm not going to lose you again."
"I don't want to lose you either, but, this virus..."
"Then, we'll beat it, I won't ever give up on us. If we work through this virus together, we will be fine, but trying to deal with this apart is too hard... For me at least."
"Okay, I guess, we can try to make this work, but, it certainly isn't conventional," said Max, finally looking into Logan's deep blue eyes.
"Normal is boring, Max. And when have we ever been conventional?"
The End.
