I don't own any of these characters. If I did, I would be a multi-
millionare.
*** It is Paris, 1905, 6 years after Christain and Satine's separation. Satine and a 5-year old girl are walking through the park.
*** Mallorie: ...and then we rode on pink elephants through the sky! The last thing the fairy said was that you had to buy me a pony...

Satine: (stopping abruptly, kneeling to face her daughter, speaking in semi- disbelief), I can't believe my ears, Mallorie! You've had all those adventures in just one day? A fairy wanted you to have a pony so badly that she came down, taught elephants to fly, turned them pink and sent them on a journey to find you?

Mallorie: Yes, mama! She did! And my birthday's coming up soon!

Satine: (taking Mallorie's hand and continuing to walk), Well, we'll just have to talk to Daddy about renting a stable at the Equestrian's Club, won't we? He won't be very sure about it, so you have to look convincing.

(Mallorie gives Satine a pleading look)

Satine: Very good! We'll win him over with that one! Have you considered a career as an actress? You could rule the stage!

(They arrive at a large townhouse, and the Duke appears at the door)

Duke: (Forcing a smile) Satine! Mallorie! Where on earth have you been? I have been waiting for 3 minutes! Don't ever do that to me again! I was worried that that Christian ...

(Satine's face hardens as they enter)

Duke: ...had abducted you and little Mallorie!

Satine: (She shuts the door behind her) Nonsense! He would never do that! He loves Mallorie like an only child!

Duke: (The Duke's forced self-control and anger erupts into a rage) Because she is his only child! Do you think I don't know? I found out about your little scandal while I was at the Moulin Rouge, making an investment. One intended to pay for more electric lights! And a new dressing room! For you! I found the letters! I know about it all! The secret meetings, the traveling! I have taken the liberty of packing your things! (He waves to a large pile of hatboxes, suitcases and other miscellaneous items) You are hereby evicted! As a parting gift, I have had the divorce papers mailed to your new residence. It is in Montmarte, right beside your beloved Christian's apartment. I would sell some of those things. They can't all fit in that shoebox. You will need the money besides. It can be devilishly hard to find a decent job in Paris, so you are now a dishwasher at Bar Absinthe. You are no longer welcome at the Moulin Rouge. All contracts are destroyed, and your dressing room has been given to Nee-Nee, that rather charming young lady who first exposed Christian. Oh Nee-Nee!

(Nee-Nee enters from a back room)

Nee-Nee: Hello, Satine! I suppose you're wondering why I'm helping dear Dukey here make your life as miserable as possible.

(Satine stares at her, in stunned silence)

Nee-Nee: Let's start at the beginning. I was the star of the Moulin Rouge before you came along. Then, Harold Zindler booted me out of my beautiful dressing room and gave it to you! You ruined my career! You! You!! YOU!!

(Satine and Nee-Nee engage in a wild cat-fight when all of a sudden, Christian bursts through the door)
