The Price of Immortality

Disclaimer: YuYu Hakusho characters are not my property.

Full Summary: KuramaXSensui. A poem in honor of the love of the deathless Kurama for a mortal man, the dying Sensui. In his room, Kurama reminisces his moments with the Dark Angel who's now breathing his last. How hard is it for a beast who has lived more than a millennium to go on loveless? Or to hear the words of farewell? Lemon content (Not much) PG-15.

(Prologue)

Bound in a parting doom,

Driven by want and hunger;

By a childish envy lethal to man;

A passion flared beyond the offing laid,

A sacred union of beast and man,

A cohesion of good and bad.

(Final Chapter)

Along Kurama's memory lane runs long and deep the morning farewell.

'It all ends here.' came Sensui's words; mirroring

an ardor moribund, a zeal foregone

nurtured by a mortal soul

for a love undying, for the deathless wolf...

A frame of sheer dimness;

Kurama's solitude in search for solace,

In his room recalling the dream that time let slip.

Four corners confining the laboured silence,

Minute light particles stealing into the slightly ajar door,

Seeping zephyr intruding the imposed seclusion

billed on this funeral-like asset,

Un-recurring shadows draping behind some immotile objects,

Faint, imaginary whispers gutting out

from the lips of a feigned, beloved presence.

A contradicted brain in a dull torpor.

On the other side of the bed; absence.

On his porcelain torso; nothing.

On the pallid softness of his rarely opened lips; a missing kiss.

On his scarlet, silky palms; hefty marks of clenched fingernails.

On the slippery surface of his virgin skin; departed caresses of hands un-owned.

On the tips of his almond green eyes; remorseful, crystalline showers consequently held by stubborn pride.

Behind these tears; An entwined pair in doleful separation

Mercilessly reduced to dreaded singularity,

Caching inside the prized subsistence

Of welling recollections of nocturnal bliss;

When his fingers were an instrument of sadistic pleasure

poking the mainspring of flickering lust.

exquisite bustling in rough friction,

Whence he once bowed his neck

to savor the sweetness

of a latent explosion of climactic joy,

draining the voluptuous succulence of his enraged glory.

Sordid fluids between the thighs

moisture inside oozing forth,

The final, sonorous groan of curbed happiness

and a masochist's laughter of undefined grace.

All these leaching to namelessness,

Snatching with them the black cherubim, the majestic beauty,

the darkly fair, plundered by eventual human death.

And he, the eternal, victimized and forlorn,

In verge of desexualizing dismalness

Hushes the battle within

Between abandoned intimacy and

Denied existence of love once there

For a body wooed from care,

Of a man to be dug on Earth,

to be sold to another realm.

The light the beast shunned, the world he disclaimed,

the moonlight quenched above his shore

to cherish life with mortal pain,

to live and die in human ways,

to watch the centuries roll by in vain.

Alas for him the denouement's laid

to part from the world and pass indeed

beyond the line of fading souls

to the dimension of wild and ghosts.

And in anguish must he pay

the price of living in a mortal world,

to endure the love of a short-lived wraith

and to taste the doom chained therein...
