He heard a scream outside, as he heard many times the day before and the day before that. Davis was young at this time, around. The "Dark Lord" had been terrorizing the people of Tai Tao Village for two days already.
The Dark Lord was two times as large as the people of his town, with such an army of knights, hunters, bandits and all other types of people. As big as his army was, all of his army could not defeat him. He had plates of armor stronger than any one could ever imagine, and more powerful arms than everyone else. He had a mask that he never took off and unforgettable glowing eyes that were so haunting that they could scare you.
It was breakfast time when Davis heard another cry. "Mom! When is he going to stop doing this?" He added, "He's been doing it for two days. Why can't he stop?!"
"It's O.K. just as long as you don't get hurt or anyone else in our family," replied his mom, Jan Lee. She served him a cup of milk and some rice.
Davis started pounding the table, "Make him stop, I don't like to hear all these screams and shouting."
"Stop pounding the table because I can't stop him. Go wake up your brother."
His brother, Dennis Lee, was younger than he was and still very young.
While Jan put another bowl of food on the table, she could hear the distant moaning of Dennis not wanting to get off the bed and Davis's shouting, "Wake up, wake up, wake up!"
"DENNIS! WAKE UP!" Davis shouted so loudly that you could hear it a mile away. Then, she heard both of them scream, "Aaaaaaaaaaah!" She ran up the stairs and into the room.
There, someone was lying on the floor and the window was broken. The man was on the floor, half conscious, half fainted. She asked the brothers, "What happened?"
"We...he... The window burst open and he flew in," Dennis said.
Davis added, "Yeah, he came flying through the window and we heard lots of 'boos' outside."
She tried to wake the man up. He was wincing in pain and groaning in agony. She ran down the stairs, got some aids and ran back up again. "Are you okay?" The man didn't say a word but nodded his head, no. She started to pluck off some glass while Davis and Dennis watched. "Don't just stand there, you two, do something!"
The two children scattered around the room, and ended up back in front of her, "Do what?" they chorused, "What do we do?"
"Something!"
