This story is for Stacy.

Okay…enough. On with the story…

*****

Her green eyes seemed to radiate to the point where I could not stop staring into them. She notices me, looks up at me, and for some reason, I feel like I can really smile.

In that moment in time, that one brief moment…I knew the truth.

I love her.

The one-winged angel falls from above, as having been cast from the heavens above.  With one smooth move, his devil's harp, the Masamune sword, pierces through her heart as he lands on the ground.

Everything stop go stop go this cannot be happening nothing is real this must be all a dream yes just all a dream that I will soon wake up from and she will be there waiting for me with that wonderful smile and those two glowing green eyes that I love so much she will be there and everything will be like it was and this nightmare will just be that a nightmare and-

I force my mind back into reality, or at least what part of it I am not numbed to now.

Her blood leaks out around the sword wound, as she slumps forward, still impaled.  She smiles, giving me back the smile that I had given to her-seconds?-minutes?-days?-before hand.

It feels like years.

My heart shakes, as I gaze down upon my blessed angel, killed by that damned angel. The sparkle then disappears from her eyes…

I look up, and see that damned angel standing over me, mocking me without apology. His cool, green eyes hold a different light to them than hers, a look of insanity.  He pulls his sword out of her, and just lets her slump to the floor. He then just turns away, and disappears without words.

I cradle her lifeless body in my arms, choking back the tears.

Her body is fragile and light, delicate, as if she would shatter into a thousand pieces if I dropped her.  Angel's are always light though.  You would expect them to be.

I see a lake across from where I had entered the room, hoping to find her.  I slowly start towards it, ignoring my friends that have just now entered the room.

I have to close my heart, I have to become soulless again, I have to become cold.  I cannot let these feelings control me.

If I don't close myself, I will not be able to do what I have to next.

I wade my way into the middle of the lake, and gently lay her body on the clear cerulean water. Without looking, I turn around and start to walk away, back to where the exit to this room is, back to the world outside.

An angel died.

A blessed angel.

I love you Aeris.

Kiss me.
