Obligatory Disclaimer: Starsky and Hutch don't belong to me... *sob*
A/N: Originally written for my 12th grade English Lit class as an example of an ode, later published in SHareCon 2002 convention zine.
Your eyes shine brightly in the darkest hour,They light up the sky and show me the way.
Sapphire blue of a gemstone or of a flower,
Deep as an ocean, they drown me every day.
The smile that is the only of its kind
Is my beacon in this dark and dreary world.
You give it to me and only show it to others.
If I were a knight, I would defend it with my sword,
For nowhere else I would be able to find
This kind of love, only shared by blood brothers.
You are so different from anyone I know,
And this is why I love you so much.
Please do not laugh; I am afraid to show it
But due to our unspoken love we never lose touch.
Our differences are vital to our connection,
So when we need a look, a touch, a smile,
There is no hesitation as to "all that stuff"
We touch, and we are content for a while.
We have lived through one resurrection
And came to the conclusion - one is enough.
