Hunger
Pippin is always hungry. Not half an hour has passed after a heavy lunch, when even the most formidable hobbit appetites have been sated and laughter has faded into contented drowsiness, and Pippin is already extracting wild strawberries from what Merry thinks might be the bottomless depths of his pockets.
What Merry thinks blurs quickly; for here is Pippin now, knees pinning Merry firmly down, and that exquisite mouth is as ripe and sweet as any strawberry. He wants and wants, and Merry gives and gives, because he can refuse this greedy, beautiful boy nothing, because Pippin is always hungry.
