"Weekend Interlude"
by Sara Jaye
This is another response to a one-word challenge, and my first
Marmalade Boy fic as well. ^^ Oh, and it's het! :o (My last several fics
were yaoi, yuri and non-romantic angst or friendshippy stuff. XD) Just a
little GintaxArimi fluff. ^o^
[Marmalade Boy belongs to Wataru Yoshizumi. I'm just borrowing the
characters for a while.]

"Ginta!"
Ginta Suou glanced at his watch and grinned.
"Right on time, Arimi," he laughed as the girl ran up to the cherry tree.
"Hey, I promised I'd meet you here!" Arimi said, setting her shopping bags
down. As Ginta leaned in to kiss her, though, his nostrils caught a whiff
of something.
"Say, Arimi?"
"Yeah?"
"What DID you buy on this shopping spree of yours?" he asked.
"Not much, really. Some new jeans, a sweater, new warm-up pants for track
practice...why do you ask?" she said.
"No reason..." Ginta wrapped his arm around her and leaned his head against
hers. "Did you do something with your hair? New conditioner?" he asked.
That scent...it wasn't exactly flowery, but it wasn't spicy either...
somewhere between those extremes.
"No, it's the same kind I always use," Arimi said, looking amused. "What's
with the questions?"
"Nothing..."
Arimi giggled.
"Oh, and by the way...you like my new perfume?" she asked. Ginta
sweatdropped.
"Aah...so THAT'S what that intoxicating scent was!" he said. "What
is it, anyway?"
"Orange blossom, with just a hint of ginger," Arimi said. "The saleslady
said men went crazy for this scent, so..."
"You decided to try it out on me?" Ginta laughed. "Cute, Arimi. Sneaky, but
very cute."
"So, do you like it?"
Ginta buried his face against her neck, letting the sweet aroma of citrus
flood his senses once more.
"Mmm...Arimi, any guy would be crazy NOT to love this!" he murmured,
pulling her in for a kiss. She blinked, a little surprised by his sudden
assertion, but quickly relaxed, wrapping her arms around his neck and
kissing back passionately.
After a moment, Arimi pulled back and smiled.
"I'll take that as a yes, then," she giggled.
"And so much more..." Ginta smirked, glancing around the empty park. "We're
alone now, but I don't want to risk Miki or Yuu or someone walking by and
seeing us...want to go back to my place?"
"G-Ginta!" Arimi blushed deeply. "You're not thinking of-"
"No!" Ginta's own face turned red. "N-no, not like THAT...not till
we're out of high school and of age, anyway," he stammered.
"Oh..." Arimi laughed. "Sorry for...jumping to conclusions there."
"It's okay...I admit, the same thought DID cross my mind for a
moment," Ginta said. "I meant, maybe we could go back to my place and watch
TV for a while?"
"I'd love to," Arimi said. "But...there's nothing good on. It's Sunday
afternoon, remember?"
"Exactly."
"You little sneak!"
"You know you love it."
"I love YOU." Arimi giggled and kissed his cheek. Ginta smiled and
stood up, offering his hand. She accepted and picked up one of her shopping
bags. "Now...care to help me with this?"
"Do I have a choice?"
"Ginta!"
"I'm kidding!" He picked up the other shopping bag, and they headed to
Ginta's house.
"Aren't weekends the best?" she asked at length.
"You're the best," Ginta said, kissing her briefly on the lips. Again, the
scent of her new perfume greeted him.
'Man, am I glad there's nothing good on TV on Sunday afternoons!'
~End~
Yes, this was plotless fluff, but I enjoyed writing it. :D
GintaxArimi is my OTP for Marmalade Boy, they're just too cute. ^_^
