The Traveling Priest
I know him well,
That traveling priest,
He dresses in black,
He is my my friend,
At first I didn't like him,
He got on my nerves,
But now I miss him,
I miss him a lot,
He's the first one,
Who didn't run,
Who didn't yell,
Who treated me like he treated everyone else,
He treated me like a person,
Not a monster,
He shook my hand,
Asked my name,
Even drank my water,
He knew I was said to be bad,
But he didn't care,
Then our journey ended,
He left,
He just wandered off,
And not long after that,
We met up again,
And from then on,
We were best friends,
Now he's gone,
I couldn't save him,
He was shot in a gunfight,
Now he's dead,
I miss you my friend,
I'm sure I'll see you again,
People ask me,
What happened to the priest?
And I respond with a warm smile,
Just like the smile you used to give me,
I look at the sky and say,
The first thing that comes to mind,
And that is,
He wasn't just a priest,
He was a traveling priest,
And he had a name,
Nicolas D. Wolfwood,
He's the priest,
The traveling priest,
Who wandered in,
Became my best friend,
Then left me behind,
He's waiting for me now,
He's just as his name says,
He's the traveling priest,
The traveling priest,
That traveled all the way to Heaven.
I know him well,
