He was lying on the bed in his hotel room. He was thinking about the world he lived in. He could never understand why it was so cruel. He tried to change it. He spent all his life working on it. To change the unchangeable.
It used to be interesting, amusing and exciting. It used to be an indescribable feeling to help. He remembered how much he liked teasing Miss Parker. It always used to bring a smile on his face. He wished he could have been there when she got there too late. He was awaiting for calling Sydney for the news. He used to be curious about how the things were going on after he left...
After he left everything was new for him. Every day used to be a new discovery. He used to sleep for a short time only, he had so many new things at the same time to see and experience. That was long ago.
He experienced such things he wished he hadn't. He got to know the world. This world wasn't the one he had imagined. It wasn't the perfect world where everybody loved eachother and there was peace and no violence and hate existed. He laughed at himself to have been such an idiot to believe in these things. Everything he believed in and thought to be existed was just a mirage.
All he used to find pleasure in turned to be everyday routine. Helping people became his job. Running away became more and more tiring. It was getting less important if he could get away or not.
He wanted joy and happiness in his life but he couldn't find anymore. He even phoned Syd fewer. Not because he hated him or something, he just had nothing to tell him. He gave up playing with Miss Parker. The adventure and danger could no longer get change in his life. He got used to it.
As he was thinking he fell asleep.
*******
Next morning he woke up at 10.35. He noticed he was getting older. Years ago he never used to oversleep. He made no effort to get up and hurry. He knew he missed his plane. He had a whole day before the next plane. He went back to his thoughts then he made up his mind to go down and get some newspapers.
He walked out of the hotel. The street was full of people. Everybody seemed to be in a hurry. He just stood there watching the people passing by. He felt to be outsider. Noone cared about noone. It annoyed him.
He wanted to belong somewhere. He wanted somebody to care about him. He wanted to care about somebody. He never found a place to call home. He never stuck around quite long to have one. He couldn't.
He looked at his watch. He had 20 hours before the plane.
He went to the newsagents and bought the newspapers. He could have found everything on the net but he needed to speak to people. He realized that he was getting crazy.
He went back to his room and started reading. Suddenly the door swung open and Miss Parker came in pointing her gun at him.
