DEMON HUNT

"NOW YOU DIE BOY!!" The Cyclops got up from off the ground and got into a new attack position. "Yeah right. Seen that stance before." Katosepe said mockingly as he started resting on the hilt of his sword. "INSOLENT HUMAN!" The Cyclops yelled its mighty war cry as it charged at Katosepe. Katosepe just sat there looking at the ground until the Cyclops was right up next to him. Then, Katosepe pulled his blade from the ground, jumped to side and stuck his sword out to his side. The Cyclops was obviously not expecting this new stance and ran clean through the blade. The Cyclops stood there a second then fell over, dead. "This guys pretty big he should be able to sell for at least a few gold pieces." Katosepe cut the head off the Cyclops and brought it to the nearest town he knew of. When he got to the pub he slammed the head onto the table. "Hey Sloan! How much do you think this one is worth." Katosepe said proudly, sure that it was worth tons. As the barkeeper looked at it he slowly shook his head. "Sorry Kato. This one is only worth 10 gold." Katosepe looked at him shocked. "WHAT!! This thing is huge it HAS to be worth more then 10 gold!" The barkeeper shook his head sadly. "The king is going insane and raising prices on everything. Hunters can't get enough gold anymore and that's exactly what the king wants. It's really too bad." Sloan went back to polishing a glass that looked to Katosepe perfectly fine. "Why does the king want the hunters to stop? The townspeople need hunters or the beasts would revolt and ravage the towns?" Katosepe looked amazed. He had grown up thinking the hunters were honored and something to adore. Not to want to stop. "The king has some issue with hunters that nobody in here has known about. I totally agree with you, though I'm just a barkeeper." Sloan said without raising his eyes from the glass he was polishing so hard, Katosepe thought it would break. "I guess I will take the gold. Thanks Sloan." Katosepe took the gold pieces Sloan slapped on the table and walked away, deep in thought. There must be something that is worth enough for more then one slab of meat... and why does the king not want anymore hunters... Katosepe left the city walls without even noticing it. He wandered for a long time in thought until he realized he was deep in the woods. How did I get out here? Oh well, I might as well set up camp here. Katosepe made a fire and roasted the only meat he had on the fire. When he had finished eating he decided it would be best to hunt something for breakfast tomorrow. He left to hunt some rabbits that he knew were common in these areas. When he got back he had captured two rabbits and was good for at least a couple meals. He decided, after he made sure the rabbits were preserved, to go to sleep. Unfortunately he forgot what every basic hunter should know to do. Keep watch for enemies...
