"What are your names?" asked Jack
"I'm Kay-"
"She's, Chewy, I'm 'Ponine, this is Gretch, Moose, and Cheese," interrupted
Chelsea
Before the boys could respond, the rest of the Jacob family appeared in
Sarah's basement. They looked utterly confused, "Oh I get it!" said
Kathryn (Moose) "They're coming in, in order of appearance"
"Mom! Dad! Sarah!" said Les.
"Ah, you don't need 'em" said Kaylee as she pushed them back into the T.V.
screen.
"Hey!" yelled Les.
"But Kath—Moose, when you said they're coming in, in order of appearance, why didn't all of the Newsies come in during carrying the banner?" asked Andrea, "Where's the Delancy brothers, Weasel, Snider?" "I'm telling you it's a Donnie Darko thing!" Said Kaylee
"No, Chewy, Donnie Darko never happened, face it," said Chelsea "Yeah, your right!" said Kathryn, too Andrea, "Maybe it only recently started, and you know what that means?" Kathryn said with a huge smile, "Racetrack is next!" "But what about that guy Jack stole the horse from?" asked Sarah. "Maybe its only main characters" shrugged Chelsea "Okay, what?" said David, "What are main characters?" "Yeah, and I didn't steal any horses!" said Jack Sarah sighed, "Not yet, you didn't steal the horse!" she tried to explain. Then she turned to look at Dave, "And main characters are people in a movie, err, I mean, a story, that the book is about" she said trying to make it more understandable for them. "Why do people dress so funny where you're from?" asked Les. The girls looked down at their pajamas and laughed. Andrea was in her leopard print pants and a bright eyes shirt. Chelsea was in fleece pants with a red slinky nightgown over it. Kaylee was in striped green and blue pajamas and a tank top. Kathryn was in plaid shorts and a tee shirt. And Sarah was wearing turquoise puppy pajamas, with a pink spaghetti strap shirt. They looked ridiculous, even for 2004. It must be traumatic for someone straight out of 1899. "Well, these are our pajamas," Kathryn tried to explain, "In 2004-" She stopped mid sentence, there out of the blank T.V. screen came Racetrack, walking solemnly wallowing in the sadness that he had lost his bet. "What the hell?" asked Racetrack, and then he looked over and saw Jack and Dave, "Jack, what's going on? Is this a joke?" he said about to laugh. "Oh god, not again," said Chelsea, dreading having to explain it again. "I'll explain this time," said Andrea, winking at Kathryn, who was now practically drooling. Andrea began to explain the whole story, a little more in depth and a little less threatening, than Chelsea had. Racetrack, still freaked out, looked at the girls, and he noticed the cute red head in the corner. Slyly, he asked, "So what are your names?" "'Ponine, Chewy, Gretch, Cheese, and Moose" Dave said, pointing at each girl as he said her name, and stopping to smile at Gretch.
/Moose/ said Racetrack in his head repeatedly, /Moose/, /Moose Higgins/.
"So, if I know anything," said Kaylee, "The other Newsies should all be coming in about 5 seconds." It was 2 minutes before they appeared.
