Sum: Tezuka and Fuji talking on the phone on Fuji's birthday.

Fuji tapped his pencil on his notebook and stretched back in his chair. It was too late at night to see anything interesting out of the window so he glanced over to his bed. A few presents from the team were on one side, and on the other were those from his siblings and parents. Only one person wasn't represented.
Tezuka.
On the top of Fuji's bag was his cell phone--powered on and idle. He sighed and closed his eyes trying to concentrate on anything but what his mind insisted on. Fuji shouldn't care. Tezuka was a friend, nothing more. There had been a few nights they had spent together in wonderful bliss. Fuji smiled and felt his body warm at the memories and replayed everything he could muster up.
Halfway through he nearly exploded out of his chair when the phone began to vibrate causing his pencils and the clasp to create an eerie jingle. Catching himself on the edge of his desk, Fuji manically grabbed his phone and fumbled with the keys to hit the right one.
"Hello?" he asked struggling to find breath.
"Fuji, its Tezuka," said the voice on the phone.
Adrenaline shot through his system, and Fuji's eyes widened. "It's...uhh...good to hear from you."
"You're birthday is today, right?" Tezuka said, not letting an empty beat pass.
Fuji was taking deep breaths to calm down, but was able to manage out a meek, "Yes..."
"Ahh..."
"Nnn..."
A moment of mutual uncertainty passed between the two, each wanting to confess to the other for hours of their amazement and love toward the other, but knowing that somehow the feelings would be lost over the distance and technology.
"How are you doing?" Tezuka threw out.
"I should be asking you that," Fuji answered with a laugh.
Tezuka smiled at the gesture of humor, "You did last night."
"Ahh..." Fuji said and began to nervously scribble with his pencil over his math homework.
"Fuji...I might be able to visit over my break."
The blue eyed boy felt his pencil lead snap against the paper, "That's good..."
Clearing his throat, Tezuka continued, "Or you could come down here. There are a few players that might be able to challenge you, and some interesting places to see."
His imagination thus struck, Fuji had to restrain himself from snickering, "Or..." he started, and then figured it best to leave those thoughts to himself.
"Or what?"
"Nothing. Never mind," Fuji began to draw little swirls around the equations.
"No, what were you going to say?"
Finally slipping back into his normal self, Fuji opened his mouth, "Nothing much...just that if I were to spend a week with you, the only place I would visit would be your bed."
Tezuka sat for a moment before giving into the laughter that only Fuji could bring to him, and in a blissful minute, the two boys laughed together forgetting the space separating them. "It'll be your birthday present," Tezuka said when he found his voice.
