Forever

I was reading a few YYH fanfics, and suddenly it hit me. We use the word -forever- a lot, when we write. They'll love each other -forever- and so on. I got to thinking and it didn't sound like something the YYH boys would think of, but Ryou-chan and Bakura-chan would. So, here goes.... Enjoy Minna.

"Ne, Bakura? You ever think about what -forever- really means?"
"Nande? What are you talking about? What is going on inside that head of yours?"
Ryou smiled at his Yami, before turning to look out the window at the stars, the vast expanse of space that streached on and on... But no one was sure if it went on -forever-, they just didn't know where it ended. Bakura was sitting on the bed, shirtless, laying on his back. Ryou sighed.
"When you said you would be with me, forever, did you think about what forever can really mean. I mean, I could die, but would you love me then? If I died, would you continue to love me and never have anyone else? Forever can be a powerful word. It can mean that you are bound to someone even after their death and that would be kind of scary. But youca't say for a life time, becasue then the question would be, whose life? Mine, or yours? But that word, we always use it so flippiantly, forever."
"Forever is a heavy word, Hikari. I use it because I know what forever can be. Remember, Hikari, I did die, and I am the Spirit of the Ring. Until you came to me, forever was a very dark place. Now forever is a bright thing, something I look forward too. If you died, I would go with you, and we would never be parted, so forever would be just that, forever, a time without end. Forever is like a circle, it has no ending, and no beginning, it just keeps going and going, never stopping. You cannot break that circle, Hikari-chan."
"But forever.... Jounouchi-kun and Seto-kun use that word, and they are mortal. Have you ever thought about what forever really means for those who are not connected, as you and I, or Yugi and Yami. Those who do not have a spirit with them. Forever could be a scary thought to those who don't understand. Forever could be like space, the space between the stars, it just keeps going into a deeper darkness, never knowing what i waiting out there for you, not thinking about what could be hurtling towards you, intent on nothing but it's own course of action. Forever.... Such a frightening word, and yet it comforts us all."
"Hikari, I will love you, forever. And I know what forever means to you and I, because we will never be apart, not even after you and I are dead. I will die with you, because I know I am connected and nothing happens to you that I do not know. I will use the word forever with the knowledge of what we are. Yugi and Pharoah will usethe word forever, and understand what it means. I think Kiba and Jounouchi have found an inkling of what forever can mean, but they see themselves in it, together and that gives them hope and it dulls the fright for them. Forever is not always darkness, Hikari."
"Hai. Forever..."
