My first normal Digimon fic, and I would hardly call it good, but w\e, here it is. By the way, I am using the japanese names cos they sound better to me.
Taomon de-evolved back to Renamon after a lengthy battle with a formidable digimon. "Good job Renamon. Lets go." Ruki said. "Yes, Ruki." Renamon said. But before she left, she heard Takato say something about Ruki while talking to Jen. Instead of leaving, Renamon faded closer, but stayed out of sight. "Its not that I don't like her, Its just I don't feel that way about her." Takato said. "Could have fooled me. The way you acted when she was in the D-Reaper made me think otherwise. So is there anyone you do love?" Jen asked. "Well, yeah, but I shouldn't really..." "Go on, its not like it will matter, I won't tell anyone." Jen said. "Alright." Takato paused for a second. "Its Ruki." "What?! Ruki? Wow, thats..." Jen said. "What?" Takato asked. "Nothing, its just I never thought you would actually like Ruki." Jen said. "Yeah, I guess I realised it when we were fighting the Parasimon." Takato said. "Takato loves Ruki? I would have never guessed." Renamon said to herself. Without needing to hear more, Renamon faded away.
As Renamon reappeared in front of Ruki's house, she thought about telling Ruki what she heard. "I should tell Ruki. She deserves to know this." Renamon said to herself. Then she saw Ruki in the window, staring out at the sunset that had just begun. "I can't tell her, I don't know how she would react. It could hurt her." Renamon said. Then Ruki saw Renamon, and walked out. "What took you so long, Renamon?" Ruki asked. "Nothing. I was delayed." Renamon replied. "Right." Ruki replied, and once again stared into the sunset. 'I cannot tell her yet. It is best if she finds out herself' Renamon thought. Ruki watched the last of the sun escape over the hills, and walked back inside. Renamon faded away.
It was a week after the last Digimon fight, and Renamon had kept the secret, expecting Takato would eventually say something. Renamon waited after the battle until Ruki left, to see what Takato was waiting for to tell her. Renamon faded closer to Jen and Taakato to listen to their conversation. "So when are you gonna tell her?" Jen asked Takato. "Well, I tried to tell her at the party, but I just... Renamon stopped me." Takato replied. "Thats a bummer. You'll have to chose a good time to tell her, otherwise it'll be no good." Jen said. "I'm not sure if I'm' going to tell her." Takato said. "Your not? You can't keep these things bottled up, you know. It will get too much for you." Jen said. "But I just can't tell her. What if she doesn't feel the same way?" Takato said. "Sometimes you just have to take chances with these things." Jen said. "I just can't." Takato said, and began walking back home. "Suit yourself." Henry said, and began walking home too. "He isn't telling Ruki? This make things worse. But I cannot tell her. I am supposed to protect Ruki, not hurt her." Renamon said to herself. She faded away again.
Ruki was walking through the city alone. She called out. "Renamon." Renamon instantly faded in beside her. "I haven't seen you very much recently. Have you been avoiding me?" Ruki asked Renamon. "No, Ruki. I have just been... busy." Renamon said. "Are you trying to keep something from me?" Ruki asked. "No, Ruki." Renamon said. Although she wasn't showing it, Renamon was felling terrible lying to Ruki. 'I have never lied to Ruki before. But if I tell her, it could be more damaging then lying to her. I must keep the secret.' Renamon thought. "If your sure. I'll talk to you later." Ruki said. "Goodbye Ruki." Renamon said, and faded away.
Ruki had just got home from school when her digivice sounded. "Lets go Renamon." Ruki said. Renamon faded in. "Yes, Ruki." Renamon said, and faded out again. Ruki ran to where the signal was coming from, only to find Jen and Takato had arrived first. Jen turned to Ruki. "Its a GrandKuwagamon, Mega level. We'll have to Biomerge." Jen said. "Right. Renamon!" Ruki called out. "Here, Ruki." Renamon said, fading in next to Ruki. "Biomerge activate." All of the tamers Biomerged and stood in a defensive position. GrandKuwagamon threw himself forward at the group. "DIMENSION SCISSORS!" GrandKuwagamon shouted and flew towards Dukemon. He dodged this attack and countered. "Royal Saber!" The attack pushed GrandKuwagamon to the gound. Sakuyamon lept forward and attacked. "Vajra Mandala!" GrandKuwagamon was once again knocked away. Saint Galgomon prepared his attack, and fired. "Giant Missile!" This was the final attack, and GrandKuwagamon burst into data.
After the battle Takato and Jen talked again, but Ruki didn't leave, or walk up to them, but instead called Renamon. "Yes Ruki?" Renamon asked. "Renamon, when we were Biomerged, I noticed something." Ruki said. "Noticed what, Ruki?" Renamon asked. "You were keeping something from me, but now I know what it is." Ruki said. "I am sorry, Ruki. I thought you would be hurt by it." Renamon said. "I don't get hurt that easily. Besides..." Ruki said, but stopped. "What, Ruki?" Renamon asked. "I think I feel the same way. At first I thought it was Ryo, but I just see him as a friend." Ruki said. "Then you should tell him." Renamon said. "Yeah, I should." Ruki said. She walked over to Takato and Jen. "Oh, hello Ruki." Takato said, quickly finishing what he was saying. "Takato, I have to tell you something." Ruki said. "What is i..." Takato could not finish before he felt Ruki's lips on his. "You have finally found a mate." Renamon said, before fading away.
