Stanton knelt by Serena's bed. His hand stroked her hair.
Don't let fear keep us apart
He was Prince of the Night, and while she didn't understand, he could have
her now.
Trees do bend, though straight and tall
Stanton was sure that their love would prove strong enough to keep them
together. She stirred in her sleep. He spoke in her dreams, reassuring
her.
And so must we, to others call
Serena started to smile. Stanton began to sing softly to her.
Long have I waited for your coming home to me and living, deeply our new

Stanton knew that Serena only had a year or two left before she had to
pick. He knew that one way or another he would have her.
The wilderness will lead you to your heart, where I will speak
Stanton knew that he was evil and shouldn't have a soul, but when Serena
came, he realized he had a soul. One made of deep love.
Integrity and justice with tenderness you shall know
Stanton would have to tell Serena soon how much he loves her. She must
know before the Atrox gets to her, or him. Before her decision. She, also,
deserved to know that he would die for her, she needs to know that he loves

soul had waited for her. It hadn't been controlled by him. It controlled
him, having him wait, and climb up the ladder until he was immortal so he
could have her.

With that, as Stanton spoke those last words into her dream, Serena woke
up. Her hands slide up his arms, and hooked themselves around his neck.
He bent closer to her. "Stanton," Serena caressed his name.
"Serena," he caressed hers. "I love you,"
"As I do you." Stanton heard those words and kissed her.
