Part 2: Hearts afire
It's a dark cold night, a pilot of an old Leo type ms sat silently about to fall asleep. "Dammit why do I always get stuck on the boring watches, nothing ever happens on the balls to four watch" the pilot said. Suddenly his radar detected something moving in fast. "What the hell, its too big to be an aircraft. It must be an MS," the pilot stated "All pilots, battle stations now." These were his last words before the unknown MS destroyed him within seconds of being detected.
"All enemies, you can surrender if you want but I'll destroy you none the less. I will have my vengeance on you on all you bastards for all the grief you've caused me" yelled the pilot. Meanwhile, a scout group led by LT Shingo Kaeda has seen the MS attack. Shingo zoomed in on the attacking MS. "What the hell, is that the Zero" the dumfounded Shingo stated...
Now, many of you may be wondering what's going on, what has happened to the warm hearted Amuro. Well to explain; lets flashback to three days after Amuro's training was completed. The young Amuro was just returning home from his training for a little R&R. But none of his training would prepare him for what he was about to see. He pulled up in his car, walked up the steps and knocked. There was no answer, "Huh, they should all be here, I told them I was coming" Amuro said. He knocked again, but this time the door creaked open like an invisible hand was moving it. The inside was dark, "well, I guess, they plan on surprising me when I turn on the light" Amuro thought with a smile. He closed his eyes and flicked on the light. He opened his eyes and was surprised in a different way.
Upon the floor lay all the members of his family dead, either by gunshot or decapitation. Their blood now practically a lake on the floor. In horror, Amuro was able to only say one word, "Zero" Amuro choked out. Back in the Zero, the images of the gruesome murder flashed in Amuro's head. As the images slowly faded, one image remained burned in his memory. On the wall ,spelled out in blood, two letters, N.E.
Thinking about what the letters could be, he remembered the new years attack. The enemy MS had the same marking was painted on the right arm of the suits. That's when he knew his family's death was an act of vengeance for their defeat. "All of my family killed because those scumbags can't handle being defeated!" Amuro said.
As the anger swelled in his body, an unusual transformation occurred. This time he didn't transform into Neo Strider, but someone much more darker and even more evil. His purity and innocence disappeared; all that was left was pure insanity. In the hangar bay of the battleship Gloria, a young woman by the name on Lena Hido, worked on the Wing Zero. This woman over the past thirteen weeks had befriended the young Amuro, although they were only friends to many on the outside they appeared to be much closer. She also believed she owed him a debt for an incident that happened when he was in training.
As she worked she noticed the gundam beginning to activate. She looked at the keypad, which was connected to the neural net of the gundam. It confirmed that someone had entered the gundam and since Amuro was away she suspected that someone was attempting to steal the gundam. She pulled her gun only to be thrown back as the gundam lifted off. She watched in horror as the gundam destroyed two sentry MS with its beam saber.
Till now this had been the last sighting of the gundam. Now as Shingo sat in his gundam dumfounded he could only watch as the enemy he had spent weeks spying on was massacred. He radioed in to his base "Fox den this is lone wolf, since when was there supposed to be an attack on the enemy base." Fox den a.k.a. maelstrom base replied "Lone wolf, what are you babbling now? There isn't supposed to be an attack." Shingo replied "Well I don't know if this a blackbag op or a rogue op but all I know is that the Zero is massacring the enemy." The base resounded "Wait a minute did you say the Zero, wolf pack move in, that gundam was reported stolen a week ago." "Move in, are you nuts that gundam would rip us apart. I know the pilot, he used to pilot an old type gundam and beat the living tar out of me in it. If this is the same pilot we don't stand a snowballs chance in hell." Shingo replied.
Suddenly a female voice came over the radio "Wolf pack, that is Amuro, I don't know what's happened to him but he's seemed to have gone insane." "Who is this, this is a secure line." The base questioned. Shingo responded, "I know who it is, it's Amuro's little honey. So what's your solution?" Lena responded "Although Amuro has lost control of his body to his insanity, he hasn't lost his mind to it. If this transformation is anything like Neo Strider he can regain control if somebody he has grown close to talks to him, he'll fight to regain control." "So I take it you're the one who he'll respond to. One question though, what if your plan doesn't work?" Shingo questioned, "Amuro will kill me thinking that I am an enemy." Lena stated.
"Your nuts, there is no way we're letting some civilian get themselves killed!" The base responded. "Lena are you willing to take that risk," Shingo questioned. "Yes, I still owe him for saving me that night. Give me some cover while I'll land." Lena replied. Meanwhile the gundam bearing the psychotic Amuro had finished of the last of the enemy MS. He was about to lift off when a voice yelled over his radio, "Amuro! I know you can hear me you have to stop this. I know you're ticked about something. But going off rogue and destroying all the enemies isn't going to help." the gundam turned and faced the now landed fighter jet and aimed its buster rifle at the plane and began to charge a shot. Tears now welling up in her eyes Lena tries again "Amuro please you have to fight your alter ego. If you don't everyone you know, and love, will die!" With that the buster rifle began to shake violently, "Lena get away I don't want to hurt you, I don't have full control yet, but when I do gain control I don't know how long I can stay in control. There's only one way to end this." Amuro said.
"Shingo, I know your there, get Lena and retreat." Amuro said lifting his buster rifle in the air. Shingo responded immediately by grabbing the fighter jet with Lena in it and retreated with his thrusters. "Farewell Amuro" Shingo said as he retreated turning his gundam. "Lena, don't look back." Shingo stated, with that Lena knew what was about to happen. "NO, AMURO!" Lena screamed. Now alone Amuro thought towards his psychotic self "I know your not Neo, I don't know who the hell you are but I'll be dead before you kill my friends. I'll fight you with every ounce of strength in my body." Amuro stated. "And he wont be alone. You're a disgrace to all symbiots. You will be defeated." Neo Strider stated.
At that moment Amuro and Neo were in perfect symbiosis. One took control of the arm with the rifle in it and fired it in the air. At the same time the other took control of the mouth and yelled "Wing Zero immediate self-destruct." With that the Wing Zero began to glow and exploded.
Epilogue
"We've searched this wreckage over a thousand times and still know sign of a body. He was probably incinerated in the explosion" one of the pilots of wolf pack brigade stated. "No he's still alive. I know it." Shingo stated. Suddenly a pilot burst over the radio "we've found a body; male, white hair, appears to be about 15 or 16 Y/O. He's wearing a battle suit." The pilot stated.
The brigade returned to the base immediately with the body. For many days to come rumors began to spread about the young man that had been brought in. Some say that it is just a survivor on the attack on the base. Others say it's the rogue Amuro Yuy. But only a few lucky people know who it really is, that is Shingo, Lena, the Wolf pack and Amuro.
