One week had passed since the last time she coded. Leaving everyone on end, unsure of anything anymore. In that time they had recovered all of the missing 55 Precinct. All dead but her. Bosco laid asleep at her bedside. They had moved another bed in since he refused to leave. He only shaved and cleaned his necessaries. He slept for only an hour or so his hand never letting go of hers. But this time it was different... Something scraped his hand, making him bolt upright. He looked around to see her fingers moving slightly. He got excited for a moment, then got down. That happened a lot. They said it was just a spontaneous muscle twitch. He got up and moved to her. She cleaned up nicely, her hair rested under her head, and she had a little color, but that was from the 10 units of blood put back into her during this past week. He rubbed her head and caressed her hair. He was cried out, he couldn't cry if he wanted to. He was almost catatonic, except for the fact he moved to her side at every chance.

His hand moved over her cheek as he felt her soft skin. and he saw a flutter of her eyes. As that happened the nurse walked in to do her coma check. All 6 times a day they did it.. it was leveled at a 1.. the lowest number, showing no sign of progress. The nurse lifted the sheet and did the pin test and blinked, doing it again. She thought she saw a toe wiggle. At the same time Mercedes eyes winced.

"She winced! She's back!" He got excited for a moment until the nurse shattered his dreams.

"Possibly not. Let's see." She nurse looked grim. Most people in comas as long as she had been don't make it. But she did the finger test and Mercedes eyes opened wide as she tried to scream, fighting the respirator. Maurice smiled and demanded the doctor, consoling his sister whose eyes were wide with a mix offer and pain.

"Calm down hunny. I'm right here. You're all right." The nurse ran out to get the doctor and a moment later everyone rushed the room. The entire squad was there, all of her friends, all of 55 practically. The doctor watched as she struggled what she could trying to get the respirator out, flailing slightly.

"Calm down Miss Boscorelli. We will see if you can breathe on your own." He turned off the respirator and removed the connector and waited a moment to see what she did. After a moment her eyes got wider gasping for air. The doctor went to put it back. Bosco grabbed his arm.

"Give her a moment!" Bosco looked down at her and whispered softly "Calm down Love... Calm. Slow breaths. You can do it." The alarm on the monitor rang out as her heart rate got faster, near dangerous levels. The Doctor tried again and Bosco shoved him.

"Mercedes. Calm down. Listen to your big brother." After a moment the alarm turned off and she started to calm down. Her heart rate evened out and she looked up at him, her hand had a death grip on his. She reached for the tube down her throat and after a second the doctor removed it. She never took her eyes off of Maurice. Seeing what she saw she had yet another reason to love him even more than before.
