After Inuyasha choses Kikyo, Kagome feels it would be best to go back to modern Japan. Her last journey up to the well.

That was it. The last sunset of the Feudal Era that she would ever see again, the last time she heard the grass crinkle beneath her feet. He had chosen her, that was all there was too it. The Shikon No Tama was back together, and what other place was left for her here? All she was before supposedly was a Shard Hunter, but they had Kikyo if they needed something like that. Nobody needed her; and it felt like nobody ever really did. The facts were all starting to sink in now, this really was the end.

She glanced down at the shinning jewel in her hand. The jewel that had caused some many deaths and so much greed. The greed that had driven many people over the edge. Enclosing her hand around it, she ripped the chain off her neck. No memories were going to go back to her time. No thoughts, or feelings.

The pink bike wheeled up to where she had first seen Inuyasha. Dead, or so she thought at the time. Mistress Centepiede. The villagers. So many people; in such a short time.

She sighed as she neared the Bone Eaters well, almost willing herself not to look back. The sunset grazed the hills, adding the color to the landscape as the villages only looked tiny from over here.

'Maybe one day.........maybe I'll come back.........' Kagome thought to herself as she looked at the serene world. Untouched by the modern world. She threw her backpack into the well, and was standing on the edge of the well, 'One last look for him couldn't hurt, could it?'

"She's actually gone." Nobody could believe that she would leave so suddenly, or nobody could accept it. Either way, it happened in an instant.

"Maybe I can stop her," Sango said, as she went to leave the hut, "Make her change her mind,"

"Sango. I don't think anything will make her change her mind." Miroku whispered.

"I know, but---" Kagome's shadow could be seen faintly walking up the hill, "I just can not believe she's actually gone........."

Inuyasha was stunned at the words. He couldn't quite place it, 'Why does it feel so.........bad to see her that upset?' The words weren't harsh, but kind. He could tell that she was upset, he could smell the salt from her tears. He looked towards Kikyo, and he could tell she was angry.

"I gotta go afte—"

"Inuyasha. You need not to go anywhere. Have you not made your choice? To stay with me?"

"Hai, Kikyo. But she really looked upset." Inuyasha started to get up.

"Inuyasha. Would you rather stay here or go somewhere you know nothing about? She has probably forgotten all about you, and the era. No use in trying any more."

Inuyasha looked at the ground, 'She's probably right.........'"You're right, Kikyo."

Kikyo smirked and quickly smiled. 'Now she'll be gone for good, and everyone here is upset. Now, only to seal the well. That should be taken care of.'

"It's hard for everyone, Inuyasha. She left so suddenly without a reason." Kikyo put on a fake sad expression. 'Damn her!'

'Nope. He's probably off with Kikyo somewhere. Good riddance.' Kagome huffed, and started to climb down the well. Taking a last look at Kaedae's village, the villagers, and the animals. This was her second home. She couldn't just leave it.

'There's no point in me staying. There's no point in me staying.' She chanted to herself as she climbed down the well. 'There really is no point in me staying.........'

I have no idea where I got this idea from. It was very..........random. Anyways. I don't think there's really much to say on this fic. I think I'm going to try to write more short fics like this, but still keep up with my long fics. I might continue with this one.

Review, please? ☺
