As the group walks out of the hospital, Cadence suddenly thinks of something. "Hey, guys? How are we going to work the transportation problem?"

Hawk and Tony both look down at her. "Good question," they say in unison, prompting the rest of the group to crack up laughing.

"John is on his way over with Mom's van, so we'll use that. Taffy, you and Tony and Eric can follow in your rental. I was talking to Mom and she says we have enough room to house most of those who are coming, and there's a hotel not too far away, if we need it."

He looks over at Cadence and slips his arm around her waist, nestling her close to his side in order to keep her from falling and hurting herself. She snuggles even closer, laying her head on his shoulder and wrapping her arm around his waist. Taffy looks over and unconsciously does the same to Tony. He looks over at James and winks. James laughs.

He bends down to Cadie. "We'll go out to the treehouse again, and we'll spend the night there, so if you want that favor, you can get it a little later. Whatever it is you need, I'll get it for you."

"Okay, James. Thank you. It doesn't involve you getting anything, just doing something for me."

"Then it shall be done, baby. I think I have an idea what it is, but I'll withhold judgment until you ask it of me."

"It's only four words, but I'll wait until we're alone before I tell you what they are."

Later that night, after they all get back to James's parents' house and get settled for the evening, James and Cadie duck out the door and head for the treehouse. As they get settled and ready for bed, James comes up behind Cadie and draws her into his arms, her back against his chest. They stand like that for a couple of minutes, each drawing strength from the other. He takes the chain from his pocket and fastens it around her neck again, where it belonged.

"Make love to me, James. Please," Cadie beseeches him.

"Are you sure, Cadie? Really sure?" he asks in reply. She turns around to face him.

"I'm surer about this than I have ever been about anything in my life, James. Help me to exorcise these demons that I have inside. Please." She nuzzles her head into his chest. "Teach me that there's supposed to be no pain. Teach me the way I should have been taught."

He draws her even closer to him. "Oh, baby. You have no idea how long I've wanted for you to ask me for that particular favor. Are you sure it's okay?"

"Remember when I asked you guys at the hospital to let me have a few minutes to talk to Lifeline, alone? That's what we were discussing. He said that as long as we don't get too rough, it should be fine."

He groans in surrender, threading his fingers through her hair. His dark blue eyes slowly lock gazes with her silver-green ones as he bends down leisurely, touching her lips with his softly. His hands slide around her waist and pull her closer to him, letting her feel how much he really wanted to do this favor for her.

"Put your hands under my shirt and take it off of me, baby. Just like I'm about to do yours. You already know what you're going to see because you've seen me without my shirt on before, but you're more than welcome to learn my body by touch. If you feel scared at any time, let me know and I'll stop. I'm not going to hurt you anymore than you already have been, sweetheart."

"You don't have to do this if you don't want to. I know that it goes against everything you were taught. I'm sorry." She shakes her head, apologizing for her request, knowing that he wouldn't help her. She backs off from him a couple of inches.

"Honey, I figured that this was what you asked that favor for, and I promised you that I would do it, didn't I? Have I ever broken a promise to you?" he asked her, gently, putting his hands on her shoulders, holding her in place. She shakes her head, and he pulls her closer. "Besides, I'm a red blooded male, despite what the rest of the gang says, and I get these feelings too."

She slides her hands around to his sides and slips her hands underneath his shirt, using her wrists to push it up and off of him with a little help, having a little trouble with her left arm being in a sling. He does the same to her, taking the sling off and unbuttoning her shirt, drawing in his breath in rage at the sight of the newly bandaged scar on her chest. He tenderly bends down and touches his lips to it, letting Cadence know that he saw the scar as a symbol of how strong she actually was, and not as another imperfection, as she had seen it.

He talks her through everything that he does to her and what he wants her to do to him in return as he does it. Everything they do is filled with pleasure. She revels in the feelings that only this particular man's touch can produce in her.

The next morning, Cadie awakens in his arms with a sense that something has changed, but she couldn't put her finger on what until she stretched and felt a delicious, pleasurable pain where she had before only felt strictly pain as a child before she healed from the numerous rapes and molestations. She felt lighter, more carefree; it suddenly occurs to her that the fear that she had had of men was mostly gone. James had done it! He had helped heal her. She smiles as his arms tighten on her from behind and cup her ample breasts in his large hands. "Wow! What an incredible night! I never knew..." she trails off as she becomes embarrassed about what she had been thinking.

"You never knew what, baby?" James asks her as he nibbles on her earlobe and nuzzles her neck. His day old growth of stubble scratches her skin pleasantly, and she moans in enjoyment.

"That it could feel so good. That it could be so unbelievable. Is it always so amazing? Can we do that again?"

"Again? Gee whiz, I've created a monster!" he laughs, turning her in his arms to face him. He kisses her and realizes that she had been right. It had been an incredible night.

"And no, it's not always that good, just with certain people, like you, for instance." He starts as a thought crosses his mind. "What if we're late for breakfast, Cadie? What are we going to tell the rest of the group?"

"Nothing at all. Lifeline's probably already told them that it was part of the healing process and that it takes some time to make sure it's done right," Cadie says with a giggle.

He grins. "Thank the Lord for guys like Edwin. They always manage to come in handy somehow. Although I don't think that he was imagining us having this much fun when he told you that we could have sex if we didn't get rowdy or anything. I want him to take a look at the wound before we go out this afternoon to pick up the rest of the group at the airport."

"Works for me, honey. Now I know why they code-named you Grand Slam. That's an incredible baseball bat you've got there. And you most definitely know how to use it." She leans up and kisses him, this time taking control for herself.

An hour or two later, they both stagger into the kitchen for breakfast. Hawk, Stunner, Lifeline, Flash and Short Fuze are sitting around the table, discussing something. When the door opens, the whole group stops talking and looks expectantly at the couple coming in the door.

"We saved y'all some breakfast, you two. It's in the oven," Taffy informed them.

"Good. I'm famished," Cadence replies, bending down slowly to get the two plates out of the oven, passing one of them to James, who takes it and pushes Flash and Short Fuze over a couple of chairs, making a spot for them to sit and eat.

"I wonder why you're so hungry all of a sudden," Taffy stated, as she watched the pair quickly eat everything on the plates, and go searching for more. "You never eat that much at once, Cadie."

Cadence looks up at her and winks. "I've never worked up an appetite like this before."

Taffy's jaw drops. "You two didn't!" she says in surprise.

Cadence and James just look at each other and grin as everyone else figures out what they're talking about. Flash, Short Fuze and Hawk choke on their coffee, and Taffy blushes.

"Like I said, the healing process takes time to make sure it's done right," Lifeline remarks with a smirk on his face. "And from the angle I'm seeing things, it was done exactly right."

Cadence snorts, almost spitting out her orange juice. "What did I say earlier?" she asked, looking over at James.

"Smart aleck," He replies looking at her, "So how are we going to do this retrieval this afternoon?"

"I wanna go!" Cadence said.

"I was planning on taking you anyway, in disguise. Taffy, did you get that package I asked you to?"

"Sure did. Come on Cadie; let's go bleach your hair. We'll be back in about an hour and a half."

The next time the guys see either member of the pair of cousins, Cadie comes downstairs to get a couple of cokes, and the guys mistake her for Taffy. Every time they call her Taffy she ignores them until Tony grabs her from behind and starts nuzzling her neck.

"Tony, I'm Cadie, NOT Taffy!" He immediately releases her and backs away.

"Ooops! Somehow, I'm thinking that I should have noticed."

She winks at him and hands him the drinks. She signals the rest of the guys in the room to be quiet as she snuck up on James and threw her good arm around his neck.

He reaches around her waist and flips her over the back of the couch onto his lap. Lifeline watches in consternation as she pulls him down to her and proceeds to deeply kiss him.

"Um, Cadence, you might want to be a little more careful with those stitches. You may have already popped one or two of them."

"I didn't feel a pull in my chest, but James wants you to take a look at them before we leave."

He stands up and takes her hand. "I was planning on doing that anyway." They slip into the bathroom and Spitfyre sheds her shirt for him to look at the wound. He unwraps the bandages and looks closely at the stitches. Then he deftly smeared some salve on the wound and wrapped it with a new bandage, taping it in place. "That should do it. You're good to go for now, but I want to change the bandages before you go to bed tonight. How was your night last night?"

"No problem, Lifeline. Oh, it was amazing! I never knew—"

He holds up a hand. "Whoa, TMFI!"

She blushes. "Sorry."

"I know most of your secrets, Cadie, but I don't need to know that one."

"That's true."

They leave the bathroom and join up with the rest of the group in the kitchen.

"We'll take both cars again, and meet up with the rest of the incoming crowd and then split into vehicles."
