Only human... or is he?
What if Logan changed? What if Rogue knew how he truly felt? And what if everything crumbled under their fingertips and they couldn't stop it?
Disclaimer: I don't own the X-men or anything having to do with them. Though it would be good fun, I don't.
Only human... or is he?
Logan tossed and turned on his bed. Outside, lighting struck and thunder blazed through the dark night sky. Lately, Logan's dreams had become much of a disturbance to him. Even he himself couldn't make out what happened it them, let alone what they meant. He had gone to see the professor a few days before, which he was kicking himself for hours on end.
.
Three Days Before
When Logan went to the professor, Xavier couldn't help him, causing Logan to mumble to himself all day and kick everything in sight (except the students who he strained not to.) Scott had wondered a bit what was going on but decided it was probably just another one of those days. That was exactly what all the students had thought. All except of course, Rogue. She was worried for him, but she knew he'd get over it. She, along with the rest of the students thought that until, he ripped apart a chair with his claws then threw it across the room. That was when worry struck the school. Rogue and Kitty and Jubilee had thought about going to talk to him but on second thought it may not have been a good idea.
.
The storm grew stronger and the thunder grew louder. Throughout the mansion they could hear faint noises of footsteps running through the hallways. Logan woke up with a startle as a bolt of lightning smashed his window to bits. Little pieces of glass flew everywhere. Striking the walls and Logan himself. Huge gusts of wind filled his room. Thunder rumbled as the lightning hit a tree outside. Girls screamed as they watched the inevitable. The big oak tree fell to the ground being very generous in its scream as it fell and hit the ground. While on its way down, bringing a bit of Scott's room with it. As a bunch of the students watched the storm, Scott's room being torn apart loosened the tension quite well. For everyone that is, except Scott. Logan struggled to open his door but it seemed to be locked from the outside. He cursed the students and Scott who he thought may have done this. Logan looked over at the window. He rolled his eyes and sighed then ran against the wind to his window.
"I guess it's my only way out."
He prepared himself to jump. As he sat on the window he looked down. "Pretty far down" He breathed in and went to jump. But nature had a different idea. When Logan reached his highest point he looked down and took a huge blow to the chest. Lightning struck him right in the heart. He flew backwards into the door shooting it open with such a force he flew through another door into Bobby and John's room across the hall.
Downstairs, Rogue, Bobby and the others all heard the lightning come inside the school. And were very curious about what was happening.
"That lightning went in the school!" Kitty cried, tears reaching her eyes.
"Can we g_" Rogue's question was interrupted by a herd of footsteps running down the stairs and meeting in the rec. room.
"I'll get that." Jean said.
She came back moments later. "Xavier's got it."
"Now can we go see if everything's alright." Jubilee asked, finishing Rogue's question. The rest nodding in agreement.
"No." Scott said blankly. Everyone in the kitchen look at him in surprise. Even Jean and Storm were confused with his response.
"Why?" Bobby finally demanded, after the longest silent moment they had ever seen.
"Because," he looked up and everyone looked very inpatient. Even his beloved Jean, although he understood. "Because I don't want any of you to go up there and get hurt. Besides everyone is already down here"
They all nodded but Rogue was the first to object.
"What about Logan?"
Scott looked down "We don't even know he's here" He said forcing himself to stay calm. It bothered him a lot how he left all the time. It bothered him because of how Rogue seemed to feel and how Jean worried late at night and cried out his name in her sleep every so often.
Enraged, Rogue yelled at Scott, "Well maybe he is here! Maybe he's laying on the ground upstairs! Maybe the lightning struck him!"
Behind them they heard a bang. Everyone looked over and saw a small firework go off. Jubilee raised her left hand and said "Sorry. I think that was my fault" The group heard another bang and quick to respond Jubilee stated "Wasn't me." They looked past her into the hallway and saw Logan stumble to his feet.
"Hey what's going on?" Logan struggled to mutter out.
"Oh my God, Logan are you okay?" Jean ran over to him
"Ya fine. Just a little lightning, falling down stairs, flying through doors, I'm fine. By the way, Bobby, John I hope you didn't like your door."
They shook their heads in response. "Logan you're ah... bleeding." John said almost confused as he rubbed his left arm.
"Ya," He turned his head with great trouble. "Jean. Uh... what's goin on? It won't go away."
