The X-men do not belong to me.
It had been three weeks since the storm and since Rogue left and returned. The institute went on as if nothing had ever happened. The students continued learning and the adults continued teaching. All seemed fine at Xavier's institute for the gifted, until...

Magneto and his crew had become tired of Xavier and all his ideas of world peace, so he decided to take things into his own hands.
"Get over here!" Magneto yelled at his accomplices. "Okay so you all know what to do?" Everyone nodded. "Excellent. Then everything should go just as I planned." The evil crew laughed viciously and then set out for work.

Back at the mansion, lunchtime approached. All the students gathered their stuff and where ready to flee when the bell rang. As the majestic sound erupted through the hallways, students jumped from their seats and attended their lunches.
"Lunch is always so frantic." Scott stated as he caught up to Jean. Just as the young man leaned against a wall, the floors of the mansion began to tremble.
"Scott watch out!" Jean cried as a huge crack made it's way through the house. Scott jumped away just in time.
"What's going on?" Rogue asked her teachers. Scott and Jean were unsure of what was happening, but they had a guess on who was creating the mess.
"Logan!" Rogue yelled at him as he fell into a crack but just catching the edge. He pulled himself up and found Rogue waiting for him.
"Come on. Let's go." Logan grabbed Rogue's hand as they made their way through the other people. Logan and Rogue tried to direct them to the doors.
Once they got outside, the ground began to crumble beneath them. They ran across the grass trying to stay on actual ground; eventually they ended up in the garage. Logan and Rogue gasped for breath, as they saw the roof fly off. The floor began to fall, leaving Rogue and Logan on a small patch of ground. Logan knew what he had to do. Remembering what he had bought on one of his trips, he reached in the pocket of his jacket.
"Rogue," Logan began. "Rogue this isn't the time or the place that I wanted to do this, but..." Logan bent down to one knee. "I love you Rogue. Will you marry me?"
Rogue was overjoyed. "Yes!" Logan slipped the ring on her finger and they kissed. Nothing. It seemed that she had come to a point where she could control her powers. (And what better a time.)
Jean ran through the halls with Scott, Storm and Nightcrawler. They burst through the garage door and found that the roof was gone and that most of the floor was too. Behind Rogue and Logan they saw Saber-tooth ready to attack.
"Rogue, Logan watch out!" Jean yelled as Scott lasered the evil mutant. But Scott's shot was a little off, and the laser blast took down the two new lovers.
"Thank you." the strange mutant muttered before going off to find his next victim.
Jean and everyone ran over to Logan and Rogue. "Scott." She whimpered as she bent over their lifeless bodies. She stared at them; they looked so innocent and undeserving. Jean fled into Scott's arms and he comforted her.
Nightcrawler looked at them. He picked up Rogue's left hand and stared at the small stone on her finger. Showing it to the others he stated,
"At least they went together."
The End!
