Cold tears were falling from the darkened sky and fell on a girls face.
They mixed with her own warm, salty ones. She was running. Running away from
this life, this time, this love. She just knew he never loved her as much as she
did him. She knew she was lying to herself when she thought that maybe he just
didn't know it yet. But, after seeing him with her… her heart was torn. She had
to leave. She didn't say goodbye to her friends, who had become a second family
to her.
Maybe I'll come back… Just to say goodbye, she thought.
She was almost to the well… Her sobs were unheard by any because the rain was coming down harder and thunder rolled through the valley.
How… How could he do this? I thought…I… It was a mistake to ever think he could ever… love me…
She tripped over a root of a tree and fell into a mud puddle. She stayed there for a moment, just wanting to disappear.
How can I move on? I can't believe I ever liked him in the first place…
She picked herself up and walking slowly to the well. Off to her left she could see a flash of red. She knew what was coming.
"Kagome!"
"Don't you come near me!"
He could see the hurt in her eyes. He saw the tears on her face, and he knew he was the cause of them. He walked slowly towards her.
"Kagome… It was…You're…"
"What? I'm what? Nothing! I mean nothing to you! Why else would you…"
"Kagome…"
"Don't! I don't want to hear it. I can't believe I actually cared about you! This… everything here… I can't believe I wasted my time with you, InuYasha. I'm leaving. I never want to see your face again."
She could see in his golden eyes the shock and hurt of her words. She couldn't help but feel a tinge of regret about what she said. But he deserved it. And with that, she turned to the well and hoisted herself on the ledge.
"Kagome, please…"
She didn't move. He walked up behind her and rested his hand on her shoulder. She shivered. He felt so bad about what happened, but
it wasn't my fault! She kissed me! I tried to push her away… but she wouldn't let go…
He slid his hand down her arm and took hold of her hand.
"Kagome, I care about you more than anything else. Please… Please don't leave me."
She turned her head to face him. He couldn't hold back anymore. He kissed her.
He…He kissed me! "I'm so sorry Kagome. I'm sorry I hurt you. Please don't go. I…I need you."
The hot, burning tears rolled down her face while she looked deep into his eyes, into his soul. She knew he meant what he said.
What if this happens again? I don't know if I can take the pain anymore.
She looked up into the sky and shut her eyes.
What should I do?
Maybe I'll come back… Just to say goodbye, she thought.

"InuYasha…I'll stay."
