When I woke up the next morning, all that remained of the blissful night
was a dent where he had laid. I slipped on my blue pajamas and without
bothering to put on undergarments I went down to get my tap shoes from the
ballroom, where I had left them after performing for the household.
I went and got into the elevator and as it went down I heard a weird
whirring sound. I stopped the elevator and went into the lab.
Could it be? Eddie? No. It couldn't be.
I stopped this train of thought and got back into the elevator and started
it up again. Unwillingly a tear slipped down my cheek. I didn't even have
the energy left to fight my feelings for Eddie.
The elevator skidded to a stop and I opened the grate and shuffled through
the ballroom doors, desolate and unable to do anything about it. I felt
arms slip around my waist and I spun in hope... and then saw it was Frank. He
had a dangerous sparkle in his eye, but I couldn't make myself dredge up
the slightest bit of feeling, not even lust.I licked the tear from my cheek
and for the first time ever, didn't feel a thing.
