Ken stood watching the golden sky fades as darkness sets in. But his eyes were glazed, as if this scene reminded him of sad memories.

Unaware of it, silent tears began to fall, splashing upon the grey tombstone.

Omi Tsukiyono

A friend, a brother, a nameless hero

As Ken stared blank at the carved letters, a bouquet of freesias he was holding slipped from his grip. Then the threatening storm began to fall, drenching the flowers. Ken slipped from his stoic stature as he broke down, leaning at the tombstone. He began tracing the words as if they were a part of Omi.

"Why did you leave?" he whispered over and over again. He was trembling, not because of the cold but from pure anguish.

"I can't go on without you…"

I'm so tired of being here

Suppressed by all my childhood fears

He can still hear his voice, his laughter, his teasing. He can still feel the last warmth that he gave to him before coldness overtook his fragile being.

He can still see him everywhere, at the flowershop, at the kitchen, in front of his computer, beside him. And he missed them all.

And if you have to leave, I wish that you would just leave

 Your presence still lingers here

And it won't leave me alone

*****************************

Standing in front of the door of the trailer, Ken hesitated afraid to see the things that brought him bitter memories, which he was avoiding for almost a year.

But he knew that he had to.

The metal door swung open and with it a gust of memories poured, overwhelming him. Time seemed to freeze as he stared around the familiar scene, imagining those last moments with Omi.

Flashback:

He was sitting in front of the kitchen table, staring at the cup of coffee. They were assigned with a new mission. He knew that it was a simple one but a feeling kept nagging  him, though he can't figure it out.

Suddenly, Omi jumped out from behind him, startling him.

"Ken-kun!" he shouted.

Jumping, he dropped his cup that he was about to drink, coffee spilling on his lap.

Cursing silently, he bent to pick up the cup which was slightly broken.

"Omi! Don't jump onto me like that!" he scolded the younger assasin, who was still smiling at him.

"Gomen nasai. It's just that you look like spaced-out."

Silence.

There it was again, that nagging feeling.

"Anything wrong Ken-kun?" Omi asked, a look of concern all over his face.

Snapping out of his reverie, he forced a smile.

"Nothing. Just a little tired I guess." He smiled again, trying to listen, as the boy started chattering.

End of flashback

He walked towards the kitchen table, trying to bring back those last moments. That scene was still in his mind: Omi, animatedly telling him funny stories while he sat beside him, smiling. A longing wrenched his heart.

These wounds won't seem to heal

This pain is just too real

He reached out at the scene, but it suddenly vanished.

"He's really gone."

"Gone."

He sat limply on the chair, reality seeping in.

"Ken-kun!"

He whipped around to the hallway, expecting to see him standing in front of his room, Omi smiling playfully.

There's just too much

That time cannot erase.

Ken approached Omi's bedroom. He saw his bed, cleanly folded. His things were still there, arranged neatly as if waiting still for its owner. Ken laid down on his bed, still smelling of Omi's scent.

He missed him so much.

"If only I had done something to save him. If only I had the power to stop him from dying."

Flashback

Slashing furiously at the attacking enemy, he threw a sideward glance at Omi who was swiftly throwing darts, giving them their deaths. They were side by side but out of nowhere, a man stood calmly behind them, a pistol in his hand. Raising it, he pointed at Ken but at the last moment, Omi shielded him with his own body.

Frozen in a sad embrace, he saw Omi's face filled with pain.

"Omi!" he cried, as Omi started falling down. Ken caught him before he hit the floor.

Looking up, he glared at the man who shot Omi, filled with fury. He rushed at the man who was taken aback. Ken mercilessly slashed the man who instantly died under his hands.

He stood in the middle of fallen bodies, the scent of blood filling the air. Rushing at Omi's side, he lifted his head onto his lap.

"I'm glad you're ok." Omi whispered, shaking in pain but forced a smile, as if to assure him that everything would be alright. But Ken knew that it wouldn't be. He felt Omi's life seeping out of him.

"I'll miss you, Ken-kun." Omi said, gasping for breath. Tears started to fall from both men. One was of sadness and one was of confusion and desperation.

"No! Omi! You can't leave. I can still do something!" Ken looked around frantically, brushing away his tears.

"There's gotta someone who could help us! Aya! Youji!" he shouted desperately. He felt his hand brushing his tears away.

"Ken. No. No one can save me now." Omi said sadly.

"N-no! No! Omi please! I love you!"

"Ken, I love you too but I have to go."

Omi looked up past him, a serene smile across his face.

"They're calling me Ken. They're smiling at me. I've done my mission."

"Thank you…"

Then his sapphire eyes, went dull, his hands slipping away from his.

Ken sat there stunned, unable to move or cry. He just stared at his lover's face which used to be full of life and joy. Tears, just seemed to fall down without his knowledge. His only light within the dark world has flickered down leaving him alone once again.

When you cried I'd  wiped away all of your tears

You'd  scream I fight away all of your fears

And I held your hand through all of these years

End of flashback

Life is like the day, it starts with hope but it is bound to end but love is like the wind though sometimes cold, it still lingers around you.

With it breaths, though thousands, you cannot give up to see again what you had loved.

It is all for you to have.

Faces will be weathered with sadness, death will someday overtook us all. Time will pass into centuries.

But you still have

All of me……
