This was written by my best friend, Char-chan. *.* She's kind of weird, and since I introduced her to fanfic a month ago, she's been hooked. She a huge slasher. ^-^

Harry walked into the common room feeling somewhat apprehensive and yet excited at the same time. Today was the BIG day - the day he would reveal to his fellow Griffindors his true inner feelings. After all, he'd spent - what five years living a lie...watching his friends lying in their four poster beds, 'lonely' and very attractively single. But there was one that he had particularly strong feelings about, and he would be the first to know what really turned him on.

Harry gazed around and finally found the by he was looking for, sitting slumped in a chair beside the fire. With a stride in his step, Harry advanced over to him, wearing, what he hoped was a casual expression.

"Hi Neville!" he said.

Neville lifted his head glumly. "Oh, hi."

"Look, I was wondering if I could have a quick chat with you." On second thoughts, Harry had decided, it would be better to tell him alone - just to see how he took it before broadcasting it to the whole nation. "In private?"

"Sorry Harry, b…but I can't…"

Harry's face fell. All those hours he'd spent up in the dormitories before, trying to get his hair just right, had all been for nothing… "Why not?"

"A tear began to run down Neville's cheek. "I've lost my Trevor!"

Harry took the seat next to him and gingerly patted him on the shoulder. On third thoughts, perhaps he'd better leave his revelations for another day - if Neville was this delicate about a toad, the news that Harry was gay would surely kill him. No, he thought, best to take things one step at a time; I'll disguise my passion as the usual sympathetic friendship, help him look for his pet, and we'll take it from there…

On fourth thoughts, it would be best to get that toad out of the way entirely - if Neville paid more attention to him than to Harry, it could have serious consequences on their to be relationship. He shuddered at the thought of reaching over in the night and accidentally kissing Trevor instead of Neville - that would not be a pleasant experience.

By now Neville was sobbing uncontrollably. Harry put his arm around him, then checked to see if anyone else was watching. Hermione was enclosed with her usual wall of text books obscuring her view. Which was just as well, because in the opposite corner Parvati and Lavendar were having tongue wrestling matches* with their respective boyfriends, Dean and Seamus - an action Hermione had duly banned only last week, when she complained that it was extremely unsightful and set a bad example for the first years. A couple of second years sat at a table hurriedly completing a potions essay: Colin and Dennis Creevey were conversing animatedly with Ginny - strands of conversation drifted into the air about 'those divine green eyes'. 'courageous nature' and 'wouldn't it be cool to have a scar like that?' - and Ron was yet to show signs of life.

"Where could he have got to?!" Neville wailed.

"Don't worry, I'll help you find him," replied Harry, who knew perfectly well that he'd do al he could to find Trevor…although whether he'd be alive or not would be a totally different matter.

"Harry would you really?"

"'Course."

"Thanks." Neville managed a small smile before getting up and heading for the portrait hole, eyes still damp from crying. "See ya at breakfast."

Harry watched him go, fighting the compulsive urge to kiss him right there and then. Oh, Neville… he thought. Why do you have to be so damn sexy?
