Author's Note: Short chapter today, guys. I'm writing this story in a notebook during school and things are coming up, so I might be a little slow in the updates. Keep reviewing and tell me what you think. Its helping me a lot.

A tall, crazy looking guy known as ZigZag looked up slowly to see the "boy" lying in the empty bed. "Hey, we've got a newbie... I wonder if they've told him about the lizards yet," His eyes went slightly wider as he said this.

Glancing over her shoulder, Logan looked at the other boys in nervousness for a moment. She shrugged slightly before lying down on the uncomfortable bed with a sigh. Logan already missed home... even the screams of her sisters. What she desired most was to be held in the arms of her mother and told everything was going to be all right in the end.

Bailey, the youngest, newest kid who still hadn't received a nickname, stopped examining his dirtied hands and glanced over to where ZigZag was looking.

"Hey... He looks lonely! We should go say hi or... something." He turned his head to look over his shoulder, suddenly thinking he heard a noise. Shrugging, he got up to talk to the new kid.

Caveman, or Stanley Yelnats, looked over to Logan and grinned a bit. He remembered what it was like to be the new guy in this place. Looks like this guy was going to be isolated from everyone else. That is, unless the D- Tent boys were welcoming.

ZigZag only turned back to whatever he was doing. He was never much of a person to go greet someone new. They were probably all untrustworthy, anyway. Bailey sat down on the bed across from the new kid and smiled warmly.

"Hello! I'm Bailey Asher and I... Uh..." He looked down at the bed he was sitting on. It was quite filthy.

Logan blinked. It seemed this boy had a short attention span. "Nice to meet you. My name is Logan Talon."

"That's a cool name but we usually go by nicknames around here. What nickname should we give him, guys?" Caveman asked, looking at the others.

ZigZag turned around, suddenly having a strange smile on his face. He looked Logan up and down. "What was your crime? ...Kill anyone? ...Maybe we could nickname you Murderer."

"I was illegally street racing without a license." She said lowly.

Caveman grinned broadly. "Street racing at your age? That's awesome!"

"Hey... Ever run over someone?" ZigZag smiled widely again, his eyes getting a little dilated as he thought about the new kid accidentally running over an innocent bystander.

"No, I do it at night when no one is on the streets except for other racers," She shrugged. "Look, just leave me alone, all right?"

Bailey shrugged and looked up at the ceiling, noticing things he hadn't before... One of the cracks in the roof looked a lot like a monkey... He thought about it and started to hum the "Apples and Bananas" song to himself... loudly.

"Look." Caveman finally said. "Why don't we go down to the pool hall or something? We can introduce Logan to everyone."

ZigZag got up and nodded. "Sounds good. C'mon. We'll see how tough the new guy really is."
