"Do you remember, what an adventure we thought this would be?" the woman asked.
"I do," he replied, taking her hand in his as they strode along boat deck.
"America, the land of opportunity. Where all our dreams could come true." Her tone of voice was sad, reminiscing.
He stopped, pulling her towards him gently. With a single finger and a delicate pressure, he pulled her chin up so she looked him in the eye.
"We did get our adventure," he asserted.
A smile lit her face. "And we got out together forever as well."
They exchanged no more words as their lips met. The couple embraced, oblivious to the shipwreck below their feet or the miles of water above their heads.
