Scroll 8: Keepsafe

Why oh why was the miko DOING this to him?! To see Sesshomaru, Kaede, and Kouga in a row was more than a shock to his system. But of course, Kagome had won yet another argument. As they ventured to Kouga's dwelling, Inu Yasha had to complain.

"Remind me WHY we need to warn Kouga?" Kagome scowled. How many times did she have to explain it to him? "Inu Yasha! Kouga can help us broaden our search and plus he can keep the scroll safe! After all, he protects shards of the Shikon no Tama for us, so he'll be able to protect the scroll. In any case, we can worry about collecting the shards AND finding the Wind Chaser at the same time. Plus, no one will think to look for it there."

Sango smiled as Kagome's thoughts took hold of her. They were mature for a girl her age, though she was a bit doubtful Kouga was one to trust. "Houshi-sama, do you think this a wise choice?" She whispered to him, so the arguing couple could not here. Miroku looked thoughtful for a moment. "While Kagome does stress a good point, I too, have my doubts. Usually I would not, but...I have a bad feeling..."

Nearing the mouth of the den, they were greeted by the very person they had come to see. Or rather, Kagome was. The boastful wolf youkai took his proclaimed mate into his arms gleefully hugging her. "Kagome! I was worried for you! Glad to see the mutt didn't harm you!" Inu Yasha growled and reached for the hilt of Tetsusaiga. "Who are you calling a mutt, you mangy bas...!!!!" "ENOUGH!"

Kagome snorted, not believing the juvenile level between the two. Beaming up at her ally who hopelessly desired her, yet with a love she could not return, welcomed him almost as warmly as he did her. "It's nice to see you too, Kouga. Actually, I came to ask for some help..."

The pack leader smiled, taking his lovely brides' hands into his own and pulling her close. "Kagome, you're my woman. I'd do anything for you..." Inu Yasha snorted. "Oh, spare me..." Kagome ignored the jealous hanyou and handed her 'man' the scroll.

"I...we need you to keep this safe...from every one except us..." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------
Fools! Could they not be aware of the danger which lay before them? Kagura floated on her massive feather, her cherished ride. The winds carried her over only miles from where the companions had headed. Landing close by, she observed as Kagome handed Kouga the scroll for safekeeping. Looking over the wolf youkai, he did not seem like an appetizing opponent. But still, she had her duties, after all...

Scroll 9: Whirl Me Away
As soon as the alpha left his den, she struck. Kouga had ventured from the company of his pack to a stream, cupping the crystal liquid in his mighty hands and draining it into his awaiting mouth to quench his thirst. Going for yet another drink, he noticed the reflection of a beautiful woman standing over him. Turning around, he glared suspiciously into penetrating blood-like eyes. "Who are you?"

Kagura knelt beside him, startling Kouga greatly. He started to move away from her, but a arm snaked around his waist and pulled him closer. Really, the demoness was feeling for the scroll tucked somewhere around his middle...no such luck. Damn, where could it be?!

"What're you...?!" Kagura's tongue thrust into his mouth, having the pack leader's senses dulled by the intoxicating passion. Soft, swift hands then reached for Kouga's haunches, continuing the hunt for the scroll. Suddenly, the male youkai made a distinct connection in scents with this whore. Naraku?! Shoving her off in haste, he raised an arm to her. "YOU....!"

A blast of wind sent Kouga flying before he could strike the deceiving witch. Kagura wiped the corners of her mouth. "Hmph...guess you are a loyal mongrel to that wretched miko...Oh well, guess I shall take the scroll by force then..." She began to conjure up more gale force, a tempest overtaking the area. Kouga was once more was thrown from his feet, spine kissing a tree and leaving him stultified (means 'useless', 'unable', etc.).

The witch stood over the helpless body, eyes narrowed coldly on his form. "And just think...not only were you defeated..." A cold yet smooth hand broke the chest armor the male youkai sported, a finger tracing some of the flesh inside and out and soon retrieving her intended prize. "But you may also lose her trust..."

Naraku was beyond pleased with his servant, though he dare not show it. "Good work, Kagura. It's pleasing to know you are good for something..." The witch scowled, wanting nothing more than to rip out her master's heart. Too bad he didn't have one. Kikyo accepted the scroll from Naraku, and read aloud the prophecy. After a while he smirked, a scheme plotting in his twisted mind.

"It looks as if the hunt is on..." ____________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________

(I haven't been feeling too descriptive lately, gomen. Plus I am running on no food at the moment. *stomach grumbles* FEED ME! :( Ermm, yeah, all I had was a Starbuck's Frappuccino. Those things are addictive 0.0; Next chapter I promise there will be A LOT more action! YAY! Ohh, also the secret pair will come together, watch closely for them to bond! They'll be more apparent in Chapter 8, which will be the saddest chapter and will clear up the mystery. Yes, I've all ready decided on how this all will end. Don't worry, all will be well ^^)

Ashley: LOL! So glad you liked! I'm a bit of a poet, so I couldn't resist not putting one in the story. Besides, it makes it more interesting. Sorry this chapter *points to 4* is so short, but Chapter 5 is going to be a doozy!
