There were figures in the distance, but I couldn't really see their face, and neither could I see mine. In this room, this darkness, there was no light, and I was shocked I could even see anything. And, there was a figure that caught my eye.
He was dressed in rich gold, a purple cloak draped over his shoulders, like an aura, a holy aura. His hair was of three different shades, a rich gold that belonged to kings alone, a dark black, a hue that was treasure of the night, and a crimson red, that could only be seen on the blood, the shade that was only seen on the precious liquid of life, an exception was his eyes, that held that same shade.
Along side him, stood six other people, dressed a bit less outstanding but still as outstanding that one boy among the other normal people shuffling about the seven of them, and that deep crimson eyes looked into mine. And I saw so many things, but they were all blur, and I could only remember one, no, two words.
Millennium Puzzle.
The name of my prison, but I'm not sure what it really is. All I know that this puzzle is broken, played, unsolved, and I will be free when the time comes. And I know nothing else I don't know who I am, what I am, when I am.
I don't know anything anymore.
My prison is just a maze, with doors of traps, and staircases that lead nowhere, up, down, they connect, and I sometimes just spend my time alone, thinking, walking aimlessly down the same stairway again and again. I just can.
And I wait for light. The light that never appeared ever since I saw those distant figures. I think I know them, or maybe I don't. Or maybe my prison just wants to give me some false memories. Yes, believe it or not, the Millennium Puzzle is magical.
But that means nothing to me.
I just want a light to shine my way, to tell me where to go, someone maybe to be my friend, someone I can protect, someone who can guide me and I will guide him.
A partner, maybe?
And there was this light. I saw the puzzle fixed, and I saw someone, smiling at the puzzle. A young child, wide violet-eyed, filled with innocence I couldn't bear to touch, face filled with weariness, looking seriously like the distant figure I saw before.
I touch his mind gently, careful so as to not hurt him. I saw one boy beating him up, I saw something he didn't know, another boy passing him one of the last pieces of the puzzle, and I saw the completed puzzle. And I knew. This was the light that the gods have granted to me, and his name was Yugi. Game in his language.
My light. The one I was supposed to protect. My partner.
And I touched his mind to learn more about this world strange to me.
My Hikari.
My Aibou.
