He cupped her chin in his hands, and lifted her eyes to meet his, a savage
smile playing on his lips.
Her stomach clenched, fear racing through her like a torpedo. His touch sent thrills racing down her spine, attacking her arms and legs, leaving her flustered and confused. Why now? Why not then...why now, after all that he's become?
She could feel his warm breath near her mouth, coming in ragged gasps, making her feel suffocated, close to fainting, but unable to break away from his grip.
"How foolish I was, not to realise how much I loved you all those moons ago" he muttered quietly, his words coming through in a whisper, his eyes scanning her face all the while.
A small cry escaped from her lips, shattering the quiet, causing the hunger etched on his face to increase.
She was terrified, rooted to the spot. Unable to stop him.
Suddenly he lurched forward, grabbing her hair. He twisted it cruelly in his wrist, dragging her head down. He yanked it back, his head snaking past her face close enough that he could whisper, menacingly;
"But it's too late now"

Ginny sat, curled up next to her bed, as she had done so many times before, her make-up streaking with tears. She replayed the scene in her head, again and again, unable to break the cycle which often held her at its mercy. She could remember it all as if it were yesterday, and she were lost in a horrible dream, fraying at the edges. Soon, she hoped, it would disintegrate completely, but until then...

"Such beautiful hair" he snarled, curling it between his two fingers. "Such a pity..."
She screamed, but no-one heard...
~*~
She remembered the way he had persecuted her...the way he had 'loved' her. "I want to show you how much you mean to me" he had said. "How much I love you".
Bitterness coursed through her body, the pain the memories had brought flooding back.
"Love!" she had spat "LOVE? The old Harry knew what 'love' was. Before..." she trailed off.
And then...she hated him so much for what he had done.
~*~
His poisonous laughter had filled her head, freezing her bones.
"The old Harry is gone, Ginny. He was weak, a fool. But I am here now...Les choses changent"
With that, he kissed her hard on the mouth, smashing her into the wall behind, choking her with the fury, pain coursing through her head, blinding her, his fingers biting into her arms...
~*~
She unconsciously massaged the spot where he had hit her, trying to blink back the fresh onflow of tears.
~*~
He leered at her.
"Now, stop fighting it. We both know we want it..."
In a moment, he was on top of her.

Ginny wrapped her blanket around her knees, seeking comfort she knew she wouldn't find. She heard footsteps padding up the wooden staircase, investigating the noise.
The door creaked open, slowly, and a small head peeked in, covered with messy black hair, emerald eyes wide in worry.
"Mummy? Are you ok?"
She stood up, wincing slightly as pain shot up her spine. There were more than physical scars to be healed. She would never be the same.
She would never forget.
"Yeah baby, I'm fine" she lied. "Wait downstairs, Mummy'll be there in a sec"
Things change.
