He forces

an eager step,

waiting for eyes

to collide;

Repressing

a latent flow

of hindered words.



He refuses

to yield,

his glance eschewed;

dreading an

unrequited feeling,

an

unwelcome love.

At last

their gazes meet,

radiating an

empty glow;

lips still pursed

their steps begin to

drift farther apart.
