Lulu and Wakka's New Arrival
Two years after accompanying Yuna to defeat sin, Lulu now found herself in love with Wakka and about to give birth to their first child. Her instincts told her it would be very soon, so she called for Rikku, Yuna, and of course Wakka. Rikku and Yuna were excited about being there for the birth. But not nearly as excited as Wakka. He was so ready for the arrival of his child, it was kinda scary. The girls had already arrived, but where was Wakka? Lulu lay on the bed in her and Wakka's hut as her time neared closer. Rikku and Yuna sat beside her stroking her hair. The plain cotton night gown she wore was drenched in sweat. She wanted to get up, to do anything to try and ease her discomfort, but couldn't find the strength. Where was Wakka! Surely he'd be here by now. "Lulu, I know you want to wait for Wakka, But your baby's not going to wait." Yuna said quietly. "I kn-OhhhhAHHHH!" Lulu screamed. Rikku winced as she heard he friend cry out. "ohhh, poor Lulu!" She whispered. But Yuna knew that that moan meant that her baby was ready to come out, NOW! With or without Wakka.
Meanwhile, Wakka, was making his way home from the beach with 15 pounds of fresh fish. He wanted to make sure Lulu had enough to eat before delivery. He also stopped at the weavers and picked up two warm fleece blankets. He opened the flap to his hut and was about to greet Lulu when he realized what was happening. Lulu was bracing herself up on her elbows as she started to push. "Lulu!" he yelled as he sprinted across the room to be with his wife. "Oh, Wakka! You made it Thank god!" Lulu panted. "It's about time!" Rikku scolded. Wakka slid on the bed and held Lulu as her pain began to build. "I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have left, ya. But I thought you might need--"Wakka started to say before Lulu cut him off. "what I need is for you to hold me, Wakka." She said firmly. "You got it, Lu" He said.
"Push, Lulu!" Yuna yelled. She was in the process of guiding a tiny red- head from her friend. "That's it, Good!" She said. Lulu flopped back against Wakka as soon as she stopped pushing. Then she pushed again. "Go, Lulu!" Rikku cheered. "Come on, Lu, keep goin'!" Wakka encouraged from behind. Finally a shrill cry filled the air. "It's a boy!" Yuna said happily. "A son! I'm a fadda!" Wakka cried. Lulu sank back, exhausted, but happy. "aww, how cute!" Rikku cooed at the newborn. "He look just like me, Ya?" Wakka said proudly when Yuna handed him the baby. Lulu chuckled and cuddled with her new baby. They both were too happy for words. But they didn't have to speak because their happiness shone in their eyes.
