Fallen leaves,
Like my fallen hopes,
Lie crushed beneath my feet.
Shattered dreams,
Like the rose he gave,
No longer smell so sweet.

What does she have that I am lacking?
When did all these things start happening?
A time to cry,
A time to weep,
A time to gaze at shattered love lying at my feet.

Fallen stars,
Like my fallen hopes,
Lie fading in the sand.
Shattered dreams,
Like my broken heart
Can be mended with a hand.
Hope is gone,
But I am strong,
And I will soon overcome…
