It Only Took A Minute

Author's Notes: I know the Evanescence on the last chapter didn't fit right. Well, I dunno. I was listening to Evanescence at that time. I really don't know any song in the 70's (I know some in the 80's though). Hope you understand!! And thank you to:

Chapter Four – Chocolate Cake

"Wanna have lunch?" James asked, "It's on me"

"Are you sure? I mean, I have some money with me"

"No, no. I'm sure. C'mon. You can have anything"

"But the restaurants in the hotel are expensive!" Lily retorted again

            "Don't worry! Now, c'mon!"

James took Lily's hand and took her to one of the hotel's restaurants, Le Soufflé.

"James, just the sound of the name I already know it's expensive"

"It's a hotel, what do you expect, a food court?"

"Welcome to Le Soufflé" the female waitress said

"Table for two and we were wondering if we could get a table outside?"

            "Certainly. Right this way, please"

The waitress took the outside and gave them a table near the railing. The two of them sat down as the waitress handed them menus.

"May I get you something to drink?"

"Lemonade would be nice" Lily said

"I'll have the same thing" James said

The waitress smiled at them and returned back inside to get their drinks.

"So, what are you having?" James asked

"I can't choose from the steak or the pasta. But I think I'll have the pasta, what about you?" Lily asked

"I'm just having smoked salmon with cream cheese"

Soon, the waitress came back with their drinks as Lily and James told them their orders. About 20 minutes later, the waitress came back holding a tray in hand. She placed the pasta in front of Lily and the smoked salmon, in front of James.

            "Thank you" Lily said

"Enjoy your meal" the waitress said, giving them a smile before leaving

            "How's your pasta?" James asked

            "It's good. What about yours?"

            "Good" James answered

After their main course, the waitress came back with a chocolate cake and placed it in front of them.

"There has to be some mistake, we didn't order this" James said

"It's in the house. We give out free cakes when couples stop by and eat here" the waitress said and suddenly noticed the engagement ring on James's finger, "Oh you're getting married? Good luck then. I wish you the best"

"Oh, she's not my fiancée. We're just…friends. My fiancé is in Paris" James stuttered, blushing

"Sure. That's what they all say. Enjoy the cake" the waitress gave them a smile and left

"Well, that was embarrassing" Lily said, with a pink tinge on her cheeks

"Yeah. You and I…getting married" James said

There was a moment of silence when James spoke up.

"Eat up. I'm not really fond of chocolates" he said, pushing the plate towards Lily

Lily knew he was lying. She knew James loved chocolates. He and the Marauders often sneak out at night into the kitchens of Hogwarts and get their hands on sweets, mostly chocolate.

Lily didn't say anything. She stared at the cake and looked at James who was looking at the garden absent-mindedly. She picked up her fork and began eating; she decided to leave some for James.

After a few minutes, Lily finished up half of the cake and pushed the plate back to James. James looked at it and back to Lily.

"I'm full. Just eat some. I know you like chocolates"

"You know me too well" James said chuckling and began to eat the cake with his fork

"Does Lisa like chocolate?" Lily asked

"That's one of the things we have in common" James said with his mouth full of cake

"Then your wedding cake should be chocolate" Lily said smiling

James didn't say anything; he was too busy eating the cake. He just nodded and continued eating.

            "Pig" Lily joked

James just grinned at her and continued eating.

Once again, thanks for the reviews in the previous chapter! Don't forget to review! Thanks in advance! Oh by the way, I don't own Le Soufflé. It's a restaurant here where I live.
