The Breeze

She was sitting atop of the hill. The breeze caught up in her hair and left it swirling in the wind to come down slowly on her shoulders. He walked towards her and sat down. She didn't seem to mind and if she did she didn't tell him.

Now they both looked at the outstretched land in front of them.

Then she broke the silence.

"Inuyasha, will we ever find the last shard?" she asked uncertainly.

Her only reply was a soft snort and silence.

Then after a couple more minutes of watching the peaceful lands he replied.

"What makes you think we won't?" Inuyasha said taking a sideward glance to look at her. She turned to fully face him and he saw the hesitation in her eyes.

"This land is huge and the shards are not even the size of a small rock. I really don't know how much longer its going to take before Naraku completes the jewel. He has all kinds of people looking out for the shard while at our side it's just the five of us."

She looked worried now hoping he could offer her some reassurance.

"Listen Kagome, I don't know if we will defeat Naraku or find the last shard. What I do know is that we will stay together looking for it, all of us." He said looking down at her.

"I know, but will it be enough?" She asked slightly reassured.

He just remained quiet and studied the land again.

He felt a weight on his shoulder and turned to see Kagome's head resting there peacefully.

"We'll see when the time comes" he said wrapping his arm around her waist and moving his gaze over the lands again. She closed her eyes slowly drifting into sleep.

 They both felt at peace.

Maybe that was the reason they never heard the screech and the loud slap coming from somewhere behind them…

AN: This must be the shortest fic ever written(yes it is a fic) but I don't care. Please R&R but don't tell me to write longer fics cause that'll come in due time. (let me practise first before I make a complete fool out of myself, 'kay?)
