Gwen walked from her house to Thomas's house; she was running a few minutes late from trying to open her door. She was hoping to talk to Tomas and to just be with someone that evening so she could just clear her mind about a few things. When Mr. Merlin came she started to feel weird, she didn't know what it was from just then but it just seem to drill into her. She just wanted to make sure it's not only her who feels this. She wasn't far from Thomas's house when she saw a dark Purple Mustang in his drive way. She thought at first that it could have been his Moms but she never remembered seeing her car there before. As she started to walk closer she saw that it was Mr. Merlin's Mustang out front that she always saw in the school parking lot. She was confuted at first when she walked by it seeing the nice black leather, but what made it worse is when she walked inside to see Mr. Merlin and Thomas talking about something that she didn't quite get as she walked through the door.
"Ooh hey Mr. Merlin," Gwen said still puzzled about what they were talking about, "What are you doing here?" Mr. Merlin didn't answer he just looked over at Gwen with eyes that almost looked as if he was about to cry. Thomas was sitting in a blue chair with his feet over the side next to Mr. Merlin just looking over at Gwen. "What's wrong? Did something happen?" Gwen started to get nervous. "Nothing happened, Gwen," Thomas said trying to calm her down "Nothing yet anyway." Thomas said knowing he shouldn't have. Merlin looked over at Thomas almost knowing he was going to say that. "Then what's wrong?" Gwen got nervous again even more so this time, "Why is Merlin here...? What's going on?" "Don't get excited Gwen, we need to talk to you, I need to talk to you about your past." Mr. Merlin said fixing his words. "What about my past, Mr. Merlin? And what would you know about my past?" Gwen said looking at him still puzzled.
"This may come to you as some stupid idea at first, but you must hear me out. It is for your own good that you hear what I have to say, before you ask questions. Is that okay?" Mr. Merlin said in a calm voice trying to get her down from being nervous. "Yes sir." Gwen said sitting down and taking a deep breath. "Gwen.... You always felt like you didn't belong here, and you were always confused why. You knew you were to smart for this school and place. Gwen there's no easy way to say this so I will just lay it out straight. Gwen... You're not from this day and age or this time. You're from the medieval times." Mr. Merlin said, as his big green eyes never left her green ones as well. He wanted her to feel calm when he said it but he knew it wouldn't have helped. "WHAT?" Gwen said standing up from her seat. "Ok that sounds really funny to me." Gwen said almost looking as if she was going to laugh. Mr. Merlin stood up looking down at her. "Now let me tell you..." he was cut off short. "What do you mean I'm from the past? That sounds so stupid! I mean come on." "See I told you she would do that Merlin." Thomas said as he giggled in his throat. "Listen when you guys are done playing around give me a call." She started for the door that she didn't close when she walked in but Mr. Merlin stopped her. "Now let me speak, both of you all right?" he said in a steer voice. "Yeah go ahead I'm not stopping you" Thomas said smiling but he stopped when Merlin looked over at him. "Yes sir." Gwen said not going to sit down. "Now Gwen like I said you're from the past.... Well at least your heart and your spirit are from the past..." he was cut off again, "Yah ....I'm not getting what your saying Merlin!" Gwen said sarcastically. "Well I guess I'll have to tell you the whole story so that you'll get what I'm saying then." He said back in just the same sarcastic way. "Yah I guess you would have to but I'll tell you this right now I don't think I'll believe it. Not one single word!" she said heading for the door to close it but she heard a weird whisper coming from behind her and she stopped. Suddenly a white light came from behind her and moved in front of her to close the door in a loud slam. She slowly looked over her shoulder her eyes wider then ever, her head turning so just being able to see Merlin's face. When she saw his eyes they looked of a bright yellow with a fine line of an emerald green swimming through them. Slowly they change back to a normal green with the same yellow in them, and then the yellow was finally gone. "Well we will just have to see about that," He turned his head to one side and made a slight smile. "Won't we?" he paused "Just give me time to tell you what happened to you." Gwen did nothing but stand there in shock then slowly moved over to the chair and sat down. Merlin looked over to Thomas and then back to Gwen, "Well it all started..."
"Hey do you need a drink or some food before you get started, Merl?" Thomas asked trying not to laugh through his teeth. Merlin looked over at him madly; his eyes grew to a yellow again then back down to a green. "No Thomas." He said in a strong voice. He looked back over to Gwen who was sitting sideways with her feet up over the arms on the chair on the right side. "So I guess the best place to start is at the beginning huh?" Merlin said knowing he was going to start there anyways. "Yes it would be." She said looking over at Merlin who was standing next to the window leaning on it. "All right then." Merlin said then cleared his throat.
A long time ago there once was a girl who was her father's pride and joy in so many ways. Her name was Gwendolyn Helts, and her fathers name was Samuel Helts. Her mother died when she turned 5 and her father took care of her ever since loving and caring for her as he always did. Her father was tall with black hair and the grayest eyes not even the thickest mist could copy, he was strong witch came in handy in his line of work. Her father was one of the kings most trusted knights; King Edward was a hero to many and an enemy to others. But the king treated her father like he was his own brother, He let him live in the castle, let him eat with him at his table, and let him walk with him everywhere like his right hand man. Her father told her story and also told her everything she needed to know about dragons, knighthood, fencing, and even magic, this all came from the story's of his life and his different journeys he had to take on. But one day as her father was coming home from the market. The evil dragon Elso attacked several knights on the roadway that Samuel was riding on. Elso was a dragon that could change into a human and back again when he wanted to. He came down as a dragon and attacked the Knights on the road but when he saw Sir Helts, he picked him up and carried him to the 3-eyed peak very high and very holy grounds to where they fought till the death. You see Samuel killed Elso's brother Dragon, And Elso wanted revenge. So he attacked him, know one knows what form he was in at the peaks. All they know is that he had stabbed Sir Helts and he could hardly breathe when someone found him. But the last thing he said with his breath was, "Tell the king... to... take care of... Gwendolyn, tell her... I love... her."
When the king found out about Samuels death, he went and told Gwendolyn himself about the news. She couldn't believe that her father, her friend was killed. The one hero she loved, the one friend she had ever had. Her father was dead. Ever Since then she vowed that she would kill Elso and make him pay for the pain he caused her. The king took Gwendolyn in and asked his 20-year-old sorcerer Merlin (one of the youngest sorcerers know through out the land) to take care of Gwendolyn as she lived in the castle, and teach her the ways of magic and teach her how to read and write better. Merlin agreed to the taking of a chilled and swore that he would watch over her for as long as he lived.
So years went by and now she had grown to be a beautiful young girl of 10, and now she knew more with the help of Merlin's teachings. Merlin told her about magic and dragons, and the good side of them that no one new about or at least not very well. For people back then just thought that dragons were evil, and had no good side to them. But Gwendolyn knew better, for she had 2 dragon friends of her own that she knew and believed were good. Merlin taught her a lot about magic and how to control what you knew to be used in an attack or even in defense. He told her about a lot of different kinds of magic and about how each one had a different story behind it. Gwen learned to use them all in no time at all, but the one that she used over and over again was her one true favorite. That one was The Fire of the Blue Rose Petals; fire would form out of her fingertips that were of a bluish flame (that's why it was called the Blue rose petals). The Hand of Forbidden Dark Fire was the top Firepower ever founded by the gods but the one that Gwendolyn had, that one was the third.
One night when Gwendolyn was sleeping in the castle of Morte she had a dream that she didn't know this one dream would change her world forever. She dreamed that was walking in this dark stared filled sky, walking as if on the stars into what seemed to be a vale of darkness. She walked passed it and then out of nowhere she was standing on almost what looked like a beam of sun light. When she followed the trail see look to see a sun of an amazing golden-orange light that shone out over the darkness, but this light wasn't as bright as the normal sun that she knew. As she stood there in amazement she saw 4 shadow-like figures slowly coming out of the sun. She took one step forward to see what these figures were, but suddenly a flash of light came from the sun and Gwendolyn covered her eyes. When she moved her hand she saw 4 huge shadows that could be made out as dragons, these shadows were flying at her but not seeming to go anywhere. She tried to see what they looked like but when she tried to focus on one of them the dark shadow got thicker; so all she could see was their dark outlines. As she was looking at them she suddenly heard a whisper that she made out to be a mans "Gwendolyn... you must find these dragons that you see now... for they will follow you till the end of time, to protect you for the quest ahead, for I have told them so as they know... You hide the wings that are dieing to fly... You hold the roar that dragons long for... You have the fire within... search for them for they will come. " Suddenly three huge dragon forms came from behind the dragons and this time she could see only their eyes. She suddenly felt something grab hold of her and almost constricting her to her spot, she looked almost scared as her eyes looked right up into theirs that seemed to drill into her sole.
Gwendolyn woke up with the blankets wrapped around her legs holding her in place. She sighed and removed the long white sheet from around her legs, with the candle still burning next to her bed she looked around the room. She looked down to her lap in shock and confusion. She knew that voice, but she didn't know why she knew it so well or even where she heard it before. "Why?" Gwen asked herself out loud "Why do I know this voice?" She looked out her window "Where have I heard it before?"
Gwen walked from her house to Thomas's house; she was running a few minutes late from trying to open her door.
