Gwendolyn and Merlin set off on their quest to find the two dragons that she knew, to see if they would help them with her dream. Gwen knew that the first dragon lived closer to the castle and it would be easier to travel right to her. She knew she dwelled in the Forests of Shadow Elves, the biggest forest in the whole west side of the Mountains of Airoth. The dragons name was Elaine the Spirited One; Elaine was as taller then any oak tree around and was the smartest dragon in over hundreds of miles. She was a white dragon with the most beautiful color of gold on the backside of her wings. Her eyes where of a skylight blue, that when you looked into her eyes you could tell why she was know as the spirited one. Her eyes told you everything about her heart and how dear everything was to her.

Elaine lived in a clearing of the green forest next to the Evenon rive that flowed through all the great forest's and planes till it passed by the kingdom where Gwendolyn lived, then off the cliffs into the sea. Elaine was watching her children play and try to breath fire when she saw someone coming her way; it didn't take her to long to see that it was Gwendolyn coming with a friend. She could see Gwendolyn was wearing a long white male dress shirt, which she had slightly tucked in her light brown leather pants that seemed to come only to her knees. She could see her knee-high boots covered the rest of her legs with her boot knife wrapped around her right leg. Her shining red hair was now down but had two thick braids with black leather swirling through her hair.

She toke a moment to study Gwendolyn's look, then walked over and met her half way. She looked down at her then decided to greet her by taking her tail and wrapping it around her as if she were giving her a big huge, bringing her up to her eye level. Merlin wearing a long dark green coat and a white male shirt covered up by a black elfish vest, and long dark green pants that also stopped at the knee. But yet again also leading on to black leather knee-high boots. Merlin almost reached for his sword when he saw Elaine pick Gwen up out of reaction. But yet he rested his hands behind his back

Elaine pulled Gwendolyn close to her, "My friend, I've missed you in the past month." She said her voice deep but yet loving, just like any woman could ever be. Gwendolyn hugged Elaine's tail as she lowered her down back to Merlin. "And who is this fine young sorcerer?" she said gazing Merlin up and down. "This is Merlin a sorcerer for the King Edward and Queen Eleanor where I live." Gwen said as Merlin flew up to meet eye level with Elaine and took a true sorcerer bow in front of her. Eleanor smiled and lead them to where her children where playing.

Gwen couldn't hold it in anymore she had to ask, "Elaine, why did you never tell me that Queen Eleanor was the Queen that gave you the ring?" Elaine looked at Gwendolyn in shock that she knew but answered her question. "Because she asked me to not tell my dear, the king gave her that ring and she didn't want him finding out." "Really" Gwendolyn said in shock and confusion. "Yes" Elaine smiled back at her but then it turned to a slight wondering look as she asked. "Your not here just for a visit are you my little friend?"

Gwen knew she could tell but she answered her question anyways "No I'm not..." she trailed off for a moment, "I need to ask you something that I don't truly know how to explain." "The best way to ask it is to tell the whole thing I would imagine." Elaine smiled and so did Gwendolyn.

Gwendolyn and Merlin sat next to the river as Elaine sat on a large bolder as Gwendolyn tried to tell her about her dream and what she saw, and also what the voice had told her. When Elaine heard the whole story she was so happy to hear about the dream, for she had a dream of a voice telling her that something was coming with the very same description.

Elaine sighed and reached her tail over and grabbed Gwendolyn by her waist as she told her, "I have been told by a voice in my dreams that this would happen. I knew it was the dragon god telling me this as so did you, even though I did not see him." She put Gwendolyn on the bolder next to her huge claw where Gwendolyn liked to sit when they talked. Merlin flew over and stood on the bolder next to Gwendolyn. Elaine sighed as she looked at the passing river, the long tree leafs that hung down from their branches into the water. Everything around them shone of a dark green, the wind blowing through the tops of the trees making the sunlight's beams glow brighter then darker then back again as golden beams of light hit the back of Elaine's wing through the holes in the branches above. Gwendolyn had her hair all down now and with the wind blowing as smoothly as it was it made Gwen's hair almost dance around her as the suns beams lightly danced upon her hair as well.

Elaine could do nothing but smile as she watched Gwen rest upon her claw. She felt in her heart she knew what to do. "I will help you Gwendolyn Helts by giving you anyone of my children you chose." Gwen looked up in shock, she truly didn't want Elaine to give her one of her Babies with out a fight but before she could say anything Merlin spoke. "Gwendolyn said, if I can recall her words correctly that the dragons would come to her from a sign from the god," he stopped and looked at Gwen. "Isn't that right Gwendolyn?"

Merlin was smiling knowing she was unable to answer from her shock from what Elaine said. Gwen looked up at Merlin, his flowing brown hair was swaying in the breeze, his green coat was now off and all he had on was his white male shirt slightly unbuttoned and his green pants and boots. Gwen nodded her head then looked up at Elaine who was smiling down at her. " That's correct, though I do not know what the sign may be." Gwen's slight grin turned to a worried look, "But Elaine is this alright with you, well I mean I don't want to take your children from you."

Elaine smiled. "Yes it is alright with me, the gods also told me to do this so I must obey them as well." Elaine got up and so did Gwen, Gwen kicked off from the ground and slowly floated to Elaine's eye level. Elaine just smiled and took her tail and wrapped it once again around Gwen's waist and lightly put her on her back, Merlin just floated next to Gwen. Elaine took no more then three steps when she turned and looked at Gwen and said, "Thank you for asking me even though I would have gladly give them to you with out it, once again thank you." All Gwen could so was smile, even though she didn't want to be smiling in the thought of taking her children. But she turned and smiled back, "Your welcome but truly I must say thank you."

Elaine called her children by a loud roar, and they all came from where they were playing and hiding, they all gathered around Elaine, Gwen and Merlin. She had 6 children, now that was more then a normal dragon should have. But that meant that one was to be blessed by Draco, and was to have all the intelligence of her mother. The dragons seemed as if large walls that Gwen knew well in the castles garden, they all stood close together like the trees in many forests that Gwen had ventured into. Elaine looked to make sure all was accounted for and looked back at Gwendolyn and Merlin. "Go on Gwen, look and see if anyone is the one you want. Gwen looked up and nodded her head a little, and as she toke a step forward Merlin asked in a low voice. "Do you have any clue as to how you will know the right dragon is here, like the you saw in your dream?" Gwen looked back at Merlin and answered in full voice.

"I was told that when I looked at the one I would just know." "But how would you know?" Merlin had to ask. "I don't know," Gwen said with a grin. "I'll just know I guess." Gwen stepped in the middle of their circle that they made and turned slowly to see them all. They were taller then she thought they would be, they were about 7 ½ feet tall and almost about 18 feet long. Gwen was so surprised when she saw them she couldn't help but say, "these dragons are huge." Elaine laughed at the thought of Gwen's words. That was a good size for a young dragon. Gwen turned slowly to the 4th dragon then stopped and just looked at the dragon every color. It was a large male dragon with the most beautiful color of gray on his body and a long line of brow that trailed his back. Suddenly a hazy outline, almost like a golden band of some sort slowly started to outline his forehead. It was fuzzy but seeable to her eyes, she walked up closer to get a better look of it but the dragon's head was too high. Never the less she saw on the front of the golden band it was one of the dragon god's symbols. But yet ever still he was too high.

Gwen (totally forgetting about her flying powers) asked, "Could you bend your head down? I need to see something for a moment." The dragon looked down and answered in a strong voice. "Yes Madame." He leaned his head down as she walked up to him and touched his forelock horns. She saw the symbol better now. And as she closed her eyes she saw the 4 outlines of the dragons again, but this time she saw one of them begin to fill in. The dragon was a beautiful brownish gray. And his eyes were a shining blue that would put the sky to shame. She managed to see the full body clearer now out of the black sky she remembered in her dream. Gwen opened her eyes with almost a tear in them and said.

"This is one of them. I can tell." Merlin looked shocked but Elaine didn't, she still stood there in the same way she did before. The young dragon made a slight smile and showed most of his teeth then said. "I will go with you wherever you take me and whatever you ask of me I shall do." The dragon made a slight bow of his head and looked back at Gwen with his great big blue eyes. Gwen smiled and held out her hand as the young dragon rested his chin on it. Gwen was lightly stroking his cheeks when she said, "I must think of a name for you or do you already have one?" a question she almost didn't need to ask but did.

"No I do not have a name malady." Gwen took a minute to think then said "Then I shall call you Drake, because you look like the god Draco." "I will be honored with that name," Drake said then slowly grinned as he showed most of his white teeth. "But there still one more," Gwen said slowly turning around again. "I can still feel his presence," Gwen looking slowly. "Who?" Merlin asked knowing it was a stupid question. Elaine answered for her, "One of the dragon gods." Elaine smiled as she watched Gwen slowly turn once more. Gwen turned some more and then 2nd to the last she saw another dragon with the same hazy gold band and symbol on another dragons head. She was the same height as the others, but she was a blackish red and her eyes where of a pinkish red as well.

But yet again Gwen couldn't see and once more forgetting about her flying powers she asked, "Could you..." she was suddenly cut off by the young dragon. "Yes madam" she said with a grin as she lowered her head. Gwen saw the symbol again on her head and when she closed her eyes. Slowly she saw another dragon figure fill in, but she realized that the two figures where right next to each other in the order that she saw them. "This is one as well." Gwen said opening her eyes. Just as she did the dragon lifted her head. "I will follow you wherever you go," she said making a slight bow from the head. "I will call you Rose for the color of your eyes." Gwen said smiling. "I would love to be called that malady." Gwen smiled and felt the presence was gone, she smiled t Merlin and Elaine, but them her smiling face moved to a frown. "I can't take two Elaine. I did you a deed that was good but not this good."

Elaine just smiled and lowered her head. "Gwendolyn.... you had a sign from the Gods to tell you to find these dragons, now I don't think I can fight with what he decided." She said smirking at her with a loving smile but still Gwen looked unhappy about what she was doing. "But Elaine I..." she was stopped by Elaine as the tip of her tale came and covered her mouth. "Take them; they are yours, I can't argue with the Gods." Elaine said in a soft whisper. Gwen looked up to Elaine with a smile but looked as if she was about to cry.

Merlin was amazed at all he was seeing. He saw a dragon give up two of her children freely. He had never seen anything like this before. He just looked at Elaine as she hugged Gwen with her tail and Gwen wrapping her arms around her. Gwen slowly pulled away and looked up to Elaine with eyes as full as her heart. Elaine smiled and looked over at Merlin. "I thank you both for coming and seeing me, and I hope you both can come and stay soon.

Draco and Rose had said their goodbyes to their brothers and sisters and walked over to Merlin. Gwen walked by Elaine's side till they got to the edge of the river where they had to split apart. Gwen looked up at Elaine once more and hugged her again. "When we meet again Elaine, I hope it will be on much brighter terms." Elaine smiled as she tilted her head slightly and looked at her with her big blue eyes. "I know we will meet again soon little one." Gwendolyn smile and looked back at her children who where back to playing, then she looked at Merlin who was standing next to Rose. "Goodbye Elaine, I shall see you soon." She turned and walked toward Merlin, Rose and Draco. When she reached then they started to walk along the river that led out of the forest.

Elaine watched them for some time as they walked along the rivers edge. Elaine now looked at Gwen's back with more of a worry as she saw them start to turn a corner of the river. But just before Gwendolyn walked all the way around the corner she turned and waved at Elaine then walked on. Elaine smiled then waved back but her worried look was still in her eyes. Everything around her was different shades of green and the water was of a silvery blue that shone from the beams of light. Elaine smiled as she looked around her then looked back to where she saw Gwen last. She now started to walk away but when she had her back turned to where she saw Gwen last she said over her shoulder, "Goodbye... Gwendolyn Heart."
