The Poison of Love
His intriguing stare,
His long black hair,
That love of mine,
Joy would be if he loved me.
Walking fast,
Overshadowed by his past,
That love of mine,
My love will be what sets him free.
Pain and darkness he's endured,
But life is present I am sure,
That love of mine,
Tantalising me he won't let me be.
Invading my consciousness,
In thoughts during my waking hours,
Conquering my sleeping mind,
In my dreams he brings me flowers.
How I wish he'd come to me,
Alas that hope just cannot be,
That love of mine.
At least he lives inside of me,
Ensnaring my heart for eternity,
Tormenting me inches beyond my reach,
That love of mine.
