Chapter 7: The Belles Hit The Town

Betsy stood in front of her full length mirror, applying a dark shade of red lipstick to her lips. Pressing her lips together, she tilted her face on an angle double checking her make up was on perfect. Smiling, she picked up a brush and began running it through her long, purple streaked hair.
"Betsy, you done yet?" A whining voice cut through her thoughts. Glancing up, she saw Ali leaning in the room through her doorway.
"Just give me a sec." Betsy replied, picking up her handbag and ruffling through it. "What's the rush anyway?"
"Well Kitty's going to show me around town with her friends." She shrugged, walking over to Betsy's bed and sitting on the edge of it. "That guy your going out with tonight, he's meant to drop me off at the mall where I'm gonna meet them."
Betsy sighed and began searching for her shoes. "I thought you were meant to be tailing the brotherhood. Oh well, just don't get too friendly with them."
"Coming from you. Who's getting all cosy with that Summers boy." Ali snorted.
Betsy pulled her kitten heels from under her bed and sat down next to Ali as she slipped them on, choosing to ignore her comment. "Where's Sally and Sarah?"
"They're going out somewhere with the Brotherhood." Ali said casually. She pursed her lips, screwing up her nose slightly. "Sally and that other girl, Tabby have some sort of secret plan."
Betsy's brows shot up in surprise. "Uh oh."
"Yeah, uh oh is right. Those two are almost each others doubles. I thought one of Sally was bad."
A horn honked outside and Ali shot up, grabbing Betsy's wrist and practically dragging her off the bed and out of the room. "Your dates here!" She squealed with excitement, "Come on!"
"Hold on, Ali." Betsy grumbled, pulling away from her and dusting herself off. "If I didn't know better I'd think you were going out on this date."
Ali smiled evilly and opened up the front door, motioning for her to go out. "No reason."
Betsy hesitated eyeing Ali suspiciously but walked out anyway, shaking her head.

Wanda, Sarah, Lance, Todd and Freddy all walked into a fast-food restaurant, the workers at the counter shooting Freddy fearful looks and Sarah swore she saw one of them break out in sweat.
"I don't know, guys." Todd said, sliding into the edge of a booth with Sarah and Wanda, Lance and Freddy heading the front of the restaurant to order the food. "Was it such a good idea to leave Sally and Tabby alone. Together."
Sarah bit her lip and shook her head. "Best not think about it."
"Your cousin sure is weird." Wanda commented, fiddling with her straw. "Are you sure you really are related? You both seem so... different."
Sarah smirked and raised a brow. "Better believe it. Speaking of weird relatives. Where's Pietro anyway?"
"Who knows." Wanda groaned. "Let's just enjoy the peace without mentioning him, please."
"I think he said something about winning back Betty and getting Summers back for stealing her." Todd supplied. "You know, the chick that you live with?"
"Betsy." Sarah corrected automatically. She sighed and shook her head. "Poor Betsy won't know what hit her." A slow grin spread across her face. "Wish I could be there to see her."
"I don't really get it though. Why do you all live together?" Todd asked curiously.
"Yeah, I mean I know you and Sal are related, but what about those other two?" Wanda joined in.
"Well," Sarah began slowly, furrowing her brow trying to remember what Betsy had told her to say if anyone asked why they were living together. "Sally and I are related, of course. Um, Betsy and Ali just happened to be staying at the house when me and Sal moved in."
"And what about that other lady?" Todd asked.
"Land Lady." Sarah said. "She's the one we pay our rent to."
"What about you?" Sarah asked, raising her brows. "Why do you all live together?" She smiled, knowing very well why they did, but just curious to see how they would answer.
"Uh." Wanda and Todd exchanged a look and Wanda turnt to Sally. "Same deal as you. Housemates."
"Oh." Sarah said, ducking her head to hide her knowing smile.
"Where's the food, yo? I'm starving." Todd complained, craning his neck to search the diner for Freddy and Lance.
"Uh, don't look now." Wanda indicated to two figures laden with food stumbling towards them.
"Whoa, how much do you guys eat?" Sarah laughed as Lance and Freddy unloaded the tray fulls of food onto the table.
"Relax." Lance sighed. "Half of it's Freddy's"
"I have a large appetite." Freddy shrugged, digging into a hamburger.
Sarah helped herself to some French fries. "Hey, as long as I get my share, I ain't complaining." She watched as everyone else tucked in. I wonder what Sally and Tabs are up to now. She thought idly. Scratch that. I don't want to know.

Sally and Tabby ran down a deserted suburban street, cackling maniacally.
It had been Tabby's idea to spend the last half hour with a pair of sheaths engraving the words 'Kelly Sucks' in his prized rose garden.
Then again, it had been Sally's idea to break is sewage line and become creative with a hose to flood the lower level of his house.
One thing was for sure, there would be some tears in the morning.

Ali grinned and leant forward from the backseat so she was between Scott and Betsy for the hundredth time during the short car trip. "So, where are you two lovebirds going?"
The couple flushed, Scott with embarrassment and Betsy with anger. "Uh, to the movies I guess." Scott slowly answered, glancing at Betsy who flashed a reassuring smile. He smiled back and turnt his attention back to the road.
Betsy took that opportunity to swing around in her seat and glare at Ali. *Will you QUIT it?!?* She growled at her telepathically. *Or I swear to God, I will reduce you to the state of a vegetable. Or just rendre you unconscious. *
Ali swallowed and smiled sheepishly, feeling a little nervous under Betsy's glare. *What did I do? All I'm doing is making conversation.* "So, what movie are you seeing?" She asked sweetly out loud, tilting her head innocently and biting her lip to stop herself from laughing. She had been doing this the entire way and was she ever getting a kick out of it.
"That's it." Betsy said, turning to Scott. "How much further till we can drop the brat off?"
"Hey!" Ali spluttered in an offended tone.
"Um, two blocks, I think." Said Scott, peering out at the road signs, trying to see through his sunglasses. Maybe driving at night with them on wasn't such a great idea.
"Okay, well here will do." Betsy said, watching as Scott slowly stopped the car and pulled up to a curb. "Get out Ali." She ordered, leaning back to open the door for her.
"You can't do that!" Ali said, wide eyed. "I'll have to walk almost an entire block! What if I get mugged? What if someone tries to murder me?!"
"Run fast." Betsy said with a smile, pushing her out and forcing the door closed.
As the car pulled away, Ali folded her arms and narrowed her eyes. "I am so going to get you back Elisabeth Braddock." She turnt on her heel and headed for the mall.
*I heard that. Try anything kiddo, and you die a painful death.* A telepathic message made her jump and she frowned, quickening her pace. Damn telepaths.

Scott pulled his car to a stop and smiled at Betsy. "Well, here we are." Climbing out of his seat, he walked around and opened her door up for her.
She gracefully slid out of the seat and smiled back at him. Looking around to get her bearings, she glanced up at the now playing signs. "So, what are we going to watch, Luv?"
"Um," Looking nervously up, he hesitated. "It's... a surprise. I'll go buy our tickets. You wait here. Is that alright?"
She nodded and sank down onto a bench. "I'll stay right here." She watched silently as he made a beeline for the ticket booth. Pulling out her compact mirror, she began reapplying some violet mascara. A slight gush of wind caused her to look up, and she sighed. Clicking her compact mirror shut, she turnt around and raised a brow. "You don't give up easily do you?"
"Of course not, your exquisite beauty has enraptured me." Pietro replied smoothly, taking her hand and raising it to his lips.
She looked on amused, and without flinching looked from her hand to him. "Uh huh." She replied dryly.
Pietro scowled slightly but quickly flashed her another seductive smile. "How about you ditch him.," He indicated to Scott, who was still standing in the theatre line. "And I'll show you a real good time."
Betsy eyed him and considered it for a split second. He was almost as hot as Scott anyway. She looked at Scott and back at Pietro again. Actually he could even be more better looking. Scott was so... she tried to her finger on it. Stiff.
But then her telepathy kicked in. She pulled her hand out of his grasp and frowned sceptically at him. "You just want me to go out with you because I ruined your little reputation by rejecting you in front of your fan club."
Pietro looked at her, stunned. "How did you..." Quickly shaking it off, he forced a smile. "That has nothing to do with it. Your ten times better looking then any of those girls." He surprised himself by saying that because, as he slowly realised, it was true. He was actually getting nervous around her and that had never happened around any other girl before.
Betsy also looked stunned after he said that because she naturally knew he was telling the truth. Feeling flattered, she smiled and blushed slightly. "Your not too bad looking yourself."
"So how about?" Pietro pushed. "Wanna drop this loser?"
"Betsy, I've got the... Hey!" Scott pulled Betsy up and away from Peitro. "This guy bothering you?" He asked her gently, shooting a glare at Peitro.
Betsy looked at Scott then glanced at Pietro, smiling. "No, of course not. Come on, let's go."
As they walked away, Pietro cupped his hands to his mouth and called after them. "So how about that date?"
Betsy paused and pondered this. "Some other time." She called back then quickly pulled Scott after her as she walked into the theatre.
Man, I'm good. Pietro thought to himself as he leant back against the bench and folded his arms behind his head. I just pulled the new hot girl right out from under Summer's nose.
Oh yeah, I'm good. Betsy thought as she admired her reflection in the glass door before they pushed it open. I just scored a date with a hottie right in front of my date, no complaints.

Kitty hummed happily to herself as she browsed through a rack of glittery shirts, occasionally pulling one out and studying it then looking disappointed and putting it back. She had been doing this for the past 2 hours.
"Oooohhh, here's one that'll suit you, Ali!" She squealed happily holding up a small pink tee.
Ali glanced up from where she was doing the same thing and walked over to Kitty looking at it then back at Kitty. "Do you think so?" She asked doubtfully.
"Uh huh, it's like, your colour and everything!" Shoving it into Ali's arms, she herded her towards the dressing rooms at the back. "Now go try it on and show me how it looks."
Resuming her humming, she began unfolding a carefully folded pile of sweaters to the clerks annoyance. "Come on, Rogue, there has to be something in here for you." She paused and glanced around. "Rogue?"
Rogue was standing in the middle of the room, her arms folded and eyes wide muttering something that sounded suspiciously like 'Just kill me' over and over again. She was snapped out of her daze by Kitty pulling her away somewhere and babbling something about styles.
Before she could even ask what she was doing, she found herself in a change room. Glancing at the floor, she gasped in horror at the pink, feather, glittery clothes Kitty had shoved in there with her. Grasping the door handle, she twisted it. When it didn't open, she started thumping on it in a panic.
Kitty's head phased through and she frowned. "Come on, Rogue. At least try them."
"Kitty you get me out of here now, or ah'll tear your arms off." Rogue growled, lunging for her.
Kitty squeaked in surprise and phased back out. "I'm not letting you out untill you try on those things." Her muffled voice yelled back.
Rogue gritted her teeth together and leant against the wall. Looking up, she smiled and began to plot her escape. All she needed now was some... she looked down at the pink sweaters at her feet. Perfect.

Sarah walked out of the diner with Wanda, Lance, Freddy and Todd laughing.
"You should have seen their faces when we ordered more food, yo." Todd laughed. "I thought they were going to faint."
"Do you always clean out shops like that?" Sarah asked Freddy, smiling.
He shrugged and smiled back sheepishly. "I guess so."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Everyone jumped and looked at Lance in surprise who had dropped everything and was running. Wanda slapped her forehead and groaned. "Not again."
Lance's jeep squealed past, the smell of burning rubber filling their nostrils as it skidded out of the parking lot.
"Wasn't that..." Sarah began.
"Yeah." Todd sighed. "Lances jeep."
"And.."
"Yeah, and Tabby and your cousin." Freddy said, shaking his hand. All three them looked and Lance who had his arms wrapped around and crying on her shoulder. Wanda was patiently patting his back. "Not Betty. Poor Betty. I'll kill her! Evil blonde. EVIL!"
"Did I just hear him call his jeep Betty?" Sarah asked in surprise. Todd and Freddy silently nodded, rolling their eyes.
"Heh, weird."

"And stay out!" The security guard growled at the three girls, slamming the door.
"Rogue, how could you!" Kitty screamed, her face red. "You are so... so..."
"EMBARRASING!" Ali yelled. "Who in their right mind would do something like that?"
Rogue smiled sheepishly and shrugged. "Ah did you both a favour getting us thrown out. You'll thank me someday."
"Yeah right." Ali grumbled, folding her arms.
"What happened?" A voice asked. Turning around, they saw Bobby walking towards them with Kurt behind him slurping on a slushie.
"Rogue got us thrown out of my favourite shop." Kitty sniffed dramatically, pointing at Rogue.
"Favourite?" Rogue asked with a raised brow. "Every stores your favourite."
"How'd you do that?" Bobby asked with a smile.
"She tore up a couple of sweaters and used them to climb out a cubical." Ali replied.
"Well if Kitty hadn't locked me in there, I wouldn't have had to escape. " She countered, indicating at Kitty.
"And then she used the walls separating the cubicles as a balancing beam and walked over the top of heaps of people getting changed." Ali continued.
"Oh come on, it's not like I was looking." Rogue snapped.
"Obviously, because the next thing you know she trips and falls on top of some half naked guy." Kitty snapped.
"Rest is history." Said Ali who was drowned out by the sound of Bobby laughing and Kurt choking on his slushie.
"Oh shut up." Kitty growled, glancing around. "Hey, isn't that Lance's jeep? Come on Ali, let's get away from these loons." Kitty pulled Ali out towards the road where she waved at the jeep, hoping Lance would see her and pull over.
The jeep didn't slow at all, it drove through a puddle of dirty water and sprayed both Ali and Kitty to the delight of Rogue, Bobby and Kurt. Ali sighed and looked at Kitty who was raving about killing Lance and causing passer bys to look at them.
"I hate my life."
