Heh, whoops. Thanks to the reviewers who pointed out my spelling mistakes and hopefully I've gotten rid of them all... if I haven't, eh, I'm too lazy. If you can't tell by now... I'm a pathetic speller. If it wasn't for my faithful spellcheck, it's probable that over half of my vocab would be spelt wrong. I blame my upbringing.

Chapter 11: This Can't Be Good

*******

"Oh, yuck. I can't believe I touched it. I feel so icky." Ali complained, dabbing at her damp hair with a towel. She had spent the last 6 hours washing out Todd's slime that had somehow become entangled in her hair and was now trimmed up to her shoulders.

She glanced in a mirror and sighed, pouting. "I miss my hair. It was so nice and long and-"

"I think it looks better." Betsy commented, trying to shut her team mate up who had been yabbering on about slime and hair for so long her ears were ringing.

"You think so?" Ali asked, tilting her head and trying to look at her hair from a different angle.

"Will you SHUT UP!" Sarah yelled, pulling off her headphones and glaring at her. "How is it I can have this turnt up full bull and yet I can still hear you going on? Your hair doesn't look any better then it did before the incident, now get over it!"

"Your just jealous." Ali sniffed, glaring at Sarah. "You... pink haired person."

Sarah rolled her eyes and glanced back down at her magazine. "Oh gee wiz, don't insult me too much."

Ali opened up her mouth to retort but was interrupted when she noticed the floor vibrating slightly. "Uh, is it just me, or is the floor moving?"

Betsy frowned and stood up, "I hope that isn't Lance. I didn't think they'd come back again."

"Me either." Sarah added, looking confused. "They're upset with us but I don't think they'd attack us. Would they?"

At that moment Sally came tearing into the lounge room and dived behind the couch. She pointed back the way she had come, her vibrant eyes wide, trying to catch her breathe. "There's a... a..."

"What?" Betsy asked, glancing nervously in the direction she had come from. "AWHAT?!?"

"A THING!" Sally yelled back. The same moment a Sentinel came crashing through the wall, plaster and brick crumbling underneath it and be crushed under it's heavy weight.

"WHOA!" Sarah gasped, stepping back. All four girls stared at the thing untill it focused a beam of light on them and trained it's guns in their direction.

"Mutants targeted."

"DUCK!" Betsy screamed, diving across the room, the same time bullets fired into the wall behind her, bringing it down. "Quickly, outside!" Was the last thing Betsy yelled before something hit her in the leg and she went down.

ten minutes later Sarah and Betsy stood outside, panting, crouched behind a tree, their clothes torn and covered with plaster and dirt.

"Where's Ali and Sally?" Betsy asked in a strained voice, looking back towards the demolished house.

"The wall collapsed on Ali and Sally went back after her." Sarah replied in a small voice.

"Damn it." Betsy sighed. "It took them, didn't it?"

"After you went down, me and Sally got you outside and she had to go back in for Ali. She got you out alright, but that thing took them."

"Why?"

"I don't know."

"You do realise we're going to have to go for help? Ms Frost is gone too."

"Yeah. And the two teams that can help us, hate us. This can't be good."
